Last night, 8/26, 8:18 P.M. went to Pizzeria. Remembered had good food. However, with this incident they won't have to worry about me patronizing business again. Incident: Purchased cheese steak hoagie combo (hoagie, fries, and sweet tea) and an Italian Chicken Salad. Thinking hoagie would automatically come with cheese w/o additional request. Was only asked what other items I wanted on it. Wherein, requested tomatoes, onions, peppers and hold mushrooms. Cost, $22.84. Started on hoagie. Decided to cut 1/4 and about the same w fries and save rest. They originally placed items in dinner tray wherein hoagie filled up 1/2 side and remainder of container was filled with fries. Well, once I begin to eat hoagie, I wondered-- Where is the cheese. NO CHEESE. Called this morning, 8/27 and explained situation and asked how issue could be resolved. Was told by "Tony" to bring remainder of dinner back and they would replace dinner. Sooo, "Good" I said and thanked him. I take practically full meal back, but was told-- They would only reimbursement me for 1/2 the hoagie, put cheese on what I returned, or give me 1/2 new hoagie. Was very distastefully spoken to as a customer. Argued down that I only brought 1/2 item. I reiterated, "I brought 3/4 of my items back and you're only reimbursing me for 1/2?" So, then they begin to tell me the size of the item that I originally purchased. I purchased full size hoagie and was told that's what I would get back. But, guy managing things was very adamant, so I told him give me my money--Wherein he only offered me $4. So, I then changed my mind and said to go ahead, give me what he was offering so I wouldn't be going away empty handed w/o food at all. They prepare and give me 1/2 hoagie wrapped in foil and put in paper bag-- No fries. So, I then said, I brought practically all my meal/fries back as well. I brought remainder of meal. Are you not giving me fries now. They only prepared about 1/4 amt of fries and put in paper bag. Very non-customer friendly. No apology to start with, only shifting blame that I'd asked that no cheese be put on my hoagie. What kind of sense does that make? "Cheese Steak Hoagie". Didn't ask for a steak sandwich. I left it all. I really tried not to give them ANY STARS at all. But, unfortunately, system would not accept my submission w/o check...
Read moreI’ve only had the pleasure of visiting this place twice. My first experience, i did have to wait a little time for my order and i wasn’t sure of where to go to place my order. Today was my second time and it was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!! I do understand that i arrived at opening and i would have appreciated being told “ there will be a wait”. INSTEAD after ordering and waiting EXACTLY 3 MINUTES i received DAY OLD PIZZA. The staff BERATED my family and I after we requested a new pizza. Another customer decided to cancel their order after the staff THREATENED to call the police on us. The toppings were thrown on the pizza and there is grated cheese SPRINKLED on top. For “COMPENSATION” i was given a medium INCORRECT for free when i received my order leading me to know, something was wrong. New York style pizza is my favorite but unfortunately i won’t be getting it from here again. $13 for 3...
Read moreI purchased two (2) Cheesesteak Specials at the Village Italian Pizza yesterday for $19.35. They were horrible. A greasy mouthful of mushrooms, and very little meat on a 6", 8" roll. A chessy, greasy mushroom sandwich. Yikes!
I like this place, as many Durham residents do, but this was a bust. The Cook got this totally wrong. Take item off menu if supplies are scarce or too costly, or you don't know how to prepare it WELL, for a customer. I felt like this was just thrown together for a quick buck, because people will eat anything, right? Wrong.
The customer service is great and the atmosphere is great 👍
