NCDMV Express Kiosk — Local services in Durham

It worked fine, but you can’t take a new photo for your ID. If that’s the case, A. Why would I drive somewhere to still stand in line instead of just doing it online??? and B. Why is that not made clear on the dmv website?!? I searched online and unfortunately got misinformation that you could take a photo here. SUPER irritated that I wasted my time & money. Absolutely fantastic! I used the kiosk for registration renewal, and I was in and out within 5 minutes. I usually renew online but it was too late in the month to receive the sticker in the mail on time (new battery was causing issues with the inspection). This was such a time saver! You get your new registration card and sticker instantly. Just make sure you verify your information when it prompts you because my title number was incorrect when I scanned my reg card, so I had to manually enter my info instead to get everything...

Online it states the different options that the kiosks can be used for, but when arriving to this kiosk only a couple of services were clickable with the others greyed out and marked "unavailable." Glad that this is a quick and easy way to accomplish some dmv tasks inside the daily routine, even on a Sunday, but also they seem to have limited this kiosk from its full capabilities. I would have liked to utilize more functions, and why design it for better if you're then going to only let it do one...
