First of all, I was blown away by the artistic pieces around the restaurant. The tree branch shelving is a major focal point but the wall art and even lighting were aesthetically pleasing. Plating was also artistic and ambient music was just right.
I love that Brier Creek finally has a real sushi restaurant with fresh ingredients. You know it’s legit when it’s all Asians dining. Also love that Sushi Suyu is family friendly with tons of high chairs and baby changing stations in both restrooms.
We ordered the the following:
Bulgogi Burger (not pictured but 10/10 according to my 2yo daughter and 70yo father; the homemade potato chips are addicting) Spicy Rice Bites (the perfect amount of spicy! Very well balanced; could eat this whole app by myself) -Truffle Salmon Carpaccio (unsure what sorcery went into the dish but we were using the potato chips from the bulgogi burger to scoop up the remaining sauce) various hand rolls (these are the best hand rolls in the area; LOOK AT HOW MUCH EEL THERE IS) specialty rolls (L-R) Sassy Girl, Tuna Turner, Eel-lusion, and Hangover Salmon (my 2yo loved the Eel-lusion the most) K-pancake with Ice Cream (the warm hotteok with oozing filling and vanilla ice cream combo is the perfect ending to a wonderful meal)
Service was well-timed and our server was knowledgeable. She recommended rolls and she accurately pinpointed our tastes. Ask for Helicia as...
Read moreI've been super excited about this place opening up since we don't have the best sushi options in Brier Creek! While I haven't been to their sister restaurant in Apex, I did peruse their pictures and thought the quality of the fish looked great, especially with the price point. I went for dinner on their grand opening day and wasn't disappointed!
I started with the garlic edamame which was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I really appreciated the various options for edamame they had on their menu.
I got the 10 piece nigiri moriawase for my main course. Bonus points for properly calling it a moriawase instead of an omakase! I enjoyed the variety of nigiri that came out, no duplicates. The presentation was wonderful, and it came with real wasabi and delicious ginger. The only small critique I have was that the ratio of fish to rice was a little off. There was a bit too much rice and the flavor/texture of the fish sometimes got lost because of it.
The highlight was the amaebi and Saba I ordered afterwards a la carte. I wish you could order by the single piece, but at the same time, I was happy to eat two of each because they were amazing! The fried head was one of the best I've had, even compared to high end sushi restaurants I've been to.
Overall, a great experience with wonderful service! I'll definitely be...

We had an absolutely wonderful sushi night with the family, and I can honestly say this is the best sushi spot in Raleigh.
We started with the Spice Rice Bites and Truffle Salmon Carpaccio—both appetizers were bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. For our specialty rolls, we ordered the Suyu Trio, Sassy Girl, and Hamachi Fever, and loved every single one of them. Each roll was fresh, creative, and delicious. We also ordered some nigiri, and they were incredibly yummy.
The restaurant itself is very spacious, which made it easy and comfortable to dine with my two kids. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was exceptional—our servers were incredibly kind and attentive throughout the evening.
If you're looking for a sushi place that combines amazing food, great ambiance, and family-friendly comfort, this is it. Highly...
