Star Nails — Local services in Eagan

All my friends and I have gone to Star Nails so many times over the past decade, and not once has this wonderful salon failed me. They are friendly, reasonably priced, talented, and overall well staffed. Every single technician they have bring their own style to the nail art.

Location: They are centrally located in Eagan, 10 minutes from St. Paul. If you are not an Eagan resident, it’s definitely still worth coming here. Stop by the Outlet or go eat some Rita’s while you’re at it. Star Nails is right off the highway, and there’s also plenty of parking for anyone and everyone.

Wait time?: They do walk-ins and appointment. If you need to be somewhere, I suggest scheduling something in. If you end up waiting more time than usual, I suggest that you communicate that with Tammy, the owner, and she will be happy to accommodate you with discounts for the future. She is super understanding. Her salon is fully staffed, but there’s a reason that during peak seasons and at peak hours, there MIGHT be a wait… but it’s because they are THAT worth it! You won’t ever have to wait that long in any case. I usually come in at 7pm or 7:30pm right before they close if I just need a quick refill. They get me in and out in 30 minutes.

Staff: Amazingly trained, great at nail art and collaborative. Bring your wildest designs and styles in there, and they can do it all for you. They work with one another to make sure that if one technician can’t draw or reproduce exactly the model you have in mind, someone else will come in to assist. Just be direct with them and tell them when they are not giving you what you exactly envisioned, they will assist. They are reasonable and want you to walk out of there content. I have given them models from random social media images, and they have all worked with me to figure it out.

Price: Nothing beats their prices, I promise. Cash discounts. Student discounts.

Services: I have gotten eyebrow waxes, gel manicure and pedicure, and foot massages and scrub. Great massage chairs, comfortable.

**EDIT : I went in on Friday night originally. By Saturday my nails were chipping. I called on Monday because I worked all weekend. Made an appointment for them to fix them on Tuesday. I show up and it was busy, but they did not even act like they cared. They sat me down and talked about my nails without asking me anything about them, just talking to each other about it. They decided the way to “fix” my nails was by filing them down a little, painting all the tops of my nails white and then painting two coats of top coat on top and sending me on my way. I was in and out in 15 minutes. They didn’t act like they cared at all. When I looked at my nails, the tops are not even at all, the paint job makes them look cracked at the tops now. I will NOT be coming back here. I found out later from another friend who goes to another salon said that her nail tech told her NEVER use the tools they did on my nails, it’s a waste of time and only lasts a week or so. I’m so beyond frustrated. I was friendly and kind to them and tipped nicely. They lost a customer for life. **

I went in because a friend/coworker got her nails fixed here after a bad experience at another salon. Once I saw her nails I knew I needed to come here, and man I am SO glad I did! We went after work one day, my nails were grown out, nothing like what I wanted and needed major help. They handled it in such stride! They filled with perfection and gave me the shape I was looking for. They had such details that the other salon just missed completely. When I left I hated the color I chose on my nails. I called them and told them and they asked me to come back the same day, even though they were closing in 15 minutes and said they wanted to fix it. I left there with nails that are exactly what I wanted and I can’t wait to go back for my next fill. The ladies there were ALL so sweet and kind and professional! Star Nails is the best nail salon out there. It is very hard to find a salon that has great product, and people that take care of you. I started to go to Star Nails three years ago and I wish I found it before that. Star Nails is clean, relaxing, and comforting. Tammy goes about and beyond to make sure all of her customers are taken care of. She treats her customers like family. I feel like family since I know Tammy so well and the rest of the employees. She knows customers by their first name and remembers their "special days" like birthdays. Even if there is no special occasion, Tammy goes above and beyond and if you do not like something or not happy, she will make sure she makes you happy. I go there every 2-3 weeks and I see for myself how much happy customers make her happy. Tammy and her employees love their jobs, and it is hard to find people who love their job. It is more than a job for Tammy, and she loves doing nails and the customers she has. Not only is Star Nails very friendly, but they do a neat and clean job every single time. For me, Star Nails is not just a place to go to and get your nails done, it is a place that has another part of my family because we have grown so close. If you are looking to get acrylic nails, gel, pedicures, eyebrow waxing or more, Star Nails is the place to go. Tammy also does my eyebrow waxing, and she does it perfect.
