2025 update: this Dunn has been declining significantly in recent years. You will be greeted by scuffed walls, dirty tables, and a lot of dust. The counter staff seem like they would rather be doing something else. The store seems to be doing less cleaning of their espresso machine, so the coffee they add to drinks has declined in quality and flavor. You may not notice it in strongly flavored lattes or mochas. Something happened here, the atmosphere of caring has changed, it seems like they are without leadership.
Old review: Unlike Starbucks and Caribou, Dunn still has a manual espresso machine, which gives the barista the control to make a better cup of coffee. This Dunn is well-staffed and everyone is friendly. The baked goods are superior to most coffee shops. My 2 favorites are the chocolate avalanche warmed up, and the espresso brownie bites. Today I tried their “food” menu for the first time. I had the California chicken sandwich, and it was excellent. This Dunn is located in a dense suburban area, so it occasionally gets busy with families, especially on weekend afternoons. Other times are usually...
Read moreEditing this review because I went back a year later and it still so bad. I still love Dun Brothers and generally look forward to going here. I love their gluten free English muffins - one of my favorite breakfasts. But when I came here a year ago and ordered it and a nirvana coffee they were out of the muffins and didn't tell me and instead served me something I didn't order and wouldn't want. Also they completely forgot to make my coffee and after waiting till we were done I finally had to go up and ask. Really disappointed.
Today I had to say my order four times. When I got to the window they still didn't get it right and it had to be corrected even though he repeated it back to me. When I finally got it the drink was off (not strong at all, probably because it was rushed to correct it) and the cheese and sausage on the gluten-free English muffin were so overcooked they were disgusting.
This review is honestly just a major note for myself to never come back here. I need to just remember to drive further out of my way to go anywhere else...
Read moreHonestly, one of my worst coffee shop experiences.
Firstly, my cappuccino was made way too hot to be able to drink it immediately. It was also poorly made; the espresso-to-milk ratio was off, and it tasted more like an Americano than a cappuccino. I also ordered a steamer for my kiddo and couldn't even give it to her in the store because it was so hot.
I was also disappointed with the croissant (if you could call it a croissant; it was flat and spongy and looked more like a pop tart).
Secondly, the whole ambiance of the shop is poor. It was dimly lit and there was no art on the (scuffed) walls. It reminded me more of a gas station seating area than a coffee shop.
It was also so loud. It was difficult to have a conversation because any sound carried. Coupled with the continuous banging behind the counter, it was so overstimulating that we left after 15 minutes and went home.
Definitely wouldn't be back. There are certainly better places to get coffee for...
