Our family went in this afternoon prepared to spend quite a bit of money (like we’ve done every year when we’ve come to visit, we have 4 kids). However, this afternoon the older lady behind the counter, I’m assuming Kathy, seemed agitated and impatient. Kids who come into your store are going to touch things — You own a toy store. I was very thoughtful to ensure that all of our children were respectful. My 14 yo was goofing around with an orangutan puppet in the back (with his dad standing right there, who was playing along with him) when she said (very sharply), “I still have to sell that.” What she didn’t realize is that we fully intended to buy it. I had a $33 card game in my hand, and our other children had picked out things to purchase as well. I had our family put our things back. We all left disappointed. We ended up buying toys, and my card game, from a big box store instead. I’m all for supporting local business, especially toy stores in the Northwoods. I'll be going here for birthday, Christmas, and holiday shopping for all the kids in my large family. Made us feel so welcome, and never, ever, reprimanded my children for checking out kids items.
