I really really wanted to like this place, really. Unfortunately though the food is, well, less than mediocre. The atmosphere is very nice. The space is beautiful. The service is friendly, still green, but definately trying and very nice. The food though. Our party chose four different types of entrees and two ala carte tacos. In all both preparation and presentation were amateur. The atmosphere and plate price suggests an element of sophistication that is not reflected in the dishes. There was little to no flavor profile to anything we ordered. Think Los Betos style dishes with less flavor, smaller portions, no authenticity and twice the price. A couple things that make it difficult for me to give this place another shot.. menu describes enchiladas topped with avocado and yet one tiny garnish sliver was all that appeared... fish tacos were plain battered fish topped with plain cabbage and drowned in sour cream no spices or housemade sauce whatsoever. I asked for hot salsa maybe to balance and was offered a bottle of chalula... for me a quality a mexican food restaurant must have housemade salsas... the final tipping point which I believe further illustrates the lack of attention to detail is their unfortunately named house special burritto... the wet Juan. That right there is too wrong on so many levels. Again I really really wanted to like this place. Eagle needs a good mexican food restaurant. If things change I would be more than happy to give it another shot but that will take a serious kitchen shake up and maybe some reflection on their...
Read moreWe ordered pick up, so can't comment on wait staff, but service over phone and at pick up was great. We ordered a chicken quesadilla, steak street tacos and tacos de carnitas. We liked the flavor of the quesadilla, but it was really, really greasy. It came with guacamole, which I didn't like at all. My husband said it was fine. I've had similar guacamole elsewhere, it's a very creamy blended guac. I have to assume it's made in large batches and something is put in it to keep it from browninig, it's very green, but I don't care for the end flavor. I personally prefer made to order guac. We received 3 salsas, they were all fine, I was surprised none of them seemed to have much spice. Although my husband said the red was a bit spicy to him. They all reminded me a lot of Cafe Ole both in texture and taste. Chips were good, tasted fresh. I would order this again, but probably not every time and I'd skip the guac. Steak street tacos were very flavorful, my husband said they were delicious. I'm not a huge fan of steak, but I also thought they were good. They double up on the flour tacos, which is nice since they can fall apart easily. The tacos de carnitas were also very flavorful, I liked these a lot. Both came with rice and beans, which were very bland. I would order the tacos again, but would skip the rice and beans (although included). Overall, I'd definitely try them again, they are close and staff we talked to were friendly. My rating is probably closer to a 3.5, little above average, but...
Read moreFirst time in this evening. The service was fast and very prompt. I was super stoked to see a California Burrito. As I am a big fan of French fries, carne asada, cheese and sour cream. Who isn’t?! My wife ordered the Piggy Burrito. When our food arrived, very fast might I add. My burrito was dwarfed in comparison to my wife’s burrito and yet they both cost $10. I unwrapped my to roughly find about 6 fries and about 3oz of meat. I can gauge the oz based off of meal prepping at home. The flavors in the California Burrito were great, however the size and amount of food I got for $10 was laughable. I’d been better off going to Los Betos for the same burrito at twice the size for $6. I’ve gotten more from Taco Bell for $10 than this place. All in all, I don’t see a reason to go back. Place might charge Eagle prices but lacks Eagle Quality. This place won’t last much longer in its location if changes aren’t made. Huge potential and I hope...
