Eagle Home Depot has some seriously challenged employees. I don’t set my expectations real high when I go to Home Depot but I recently went to the store and had no less than four workers tell me that they had no idea where to find the item I was looking for. I had checked the online status which showed that there were several of the items in stock but when I went to the store to buy them they were not in the location indicated on the web page.
The first employee I spoke with was unable to tell me where in the store the aisle number was located and when I asked him to find out he looked totally confused like I had asked him to redesign the space shuttle. The blank stare became uncomfortable and I gave up on him and walked to the customer service desk.
The next employee was knowledgeable and kind enough to point me to the aisle I was searching for but once I arrived at the aisle the item was not there on the shelf and appeared to have been relocated. Seemed simple enough so I spoke with the third and fourth employees nearby and requested their help in locating the items. After some blank stares I opened the app on my phone and showed them the item information. Employee three searched on his small computer and also checked the area I had just checked. After he was unable to locate it he just shrugged his shoulders and said he had no idea where it was and was not sure the items were even sold at the store.
I asked about the stock indicator which said there were several at that store and he said it’s often wrong and has seen cases that showed over 100 of an item in the store but it was nowhere t be found.
In the end it was a complete waste of my time driving to the store and dealing with incompetence and ambivalence. I left the store and purchased the items online for pickup at the Boise (Milwaukee) store and was notified in approximately 10 minutes that they were ready for pickup.
If you go to the eagle store don’t expect any meaningful help from the...
Read moreDon't do carpet install with Home Depot. They contract it out to a company called Romanoff. I scheduled and totally paid for an installation in McCall Idaho.I wanted two estimates, I had carpet as baseboard instead of moulding and I wanted an estimate to replace the carpet edging or to install moulding. I got the estimates and paid to have carpet and moulding installed of which i would supply. When they came out to install carpet the installer told me he doesnt do moulding, I called Romanoff they said they don't do moulding. I immediately called Home Depot they said that they do and called Romanoff. Well they then changed their story and said they do but sent the wrong crew. Everything I researched and was told by carpet installers said you should have moulding put in before carpet, well the installer said it could still be done so I went ahead and had them do carpet install. They dropped closet doors, chipped the door, put two indentended holes in wall from sliding barn door too hard against wall.Dinged headboard on bed frame, Damaged door bottoms by stripping lament on bedroom doors. When they moved the only furniture item in room instead of using two people one person would slide mattress along floor instead of lifting. As if all this wasn't bad enough I was told it would be an additional 2-3 weeks before Romanoff had another job in McCall to do moulding. Romanoff said they had sent the wrong crew. After 2 weeks with no job completion date and the floor specialist at Eagle store(Julie) did nothing to support customer service I finally asked for my money back. I have no hopes of Home Depot ever supporting a warranty should I have problesm. Take your money some place else you wont have...
Read moreI went into the Eagle Idaho Home Depot on Saturday at 6pm to return a few items and do some shopping. There were 5 people in the return line and just as many at the Customer Service desk. No one was working the return desk. I waited 15 minutes and asked the lady in front of me if she knew what was going on. She said that the one person working Customer Service was trying to do both but obviously she hadn't been to the return desk in the past fifteen minutes. I asked two employees that walked by if anyone was working returns. One replied, "we are just really busy." The other replied, "I'm helping someone else right now." Neither answered my question. I tried calling a store manager on my phone but it just rang and rang and rang. I left in disgust. I got home an hour later and tried calling the store, the corporate office and then the store again. The phone just rang and no one picked up. Apparently Home Depot has gone the way of all other retail stores. They have a we don't care attitude, no customer service and no help. I guess I will try the Blue store next. I have spent thousands of dollars upon thousands of dollars over the years at Home Depot. They just lost my business. I will go Blue or pay higher prices at ACE Hardware. It is too bad that this country has gone so far downhill and all the businesses with them. Home Depot just doesn't care anymore. It won't break my heart to see them go out of business like all the rest that have gone before them because corporate or the employees just don't make any...
