This is a GREAT place!! A place to create great memories for your children. My children are adults now....we still go occasionally but they have great memories of going to Skinner's. They have 3 basic sections...the penny candy area ( my children's favorite area), an ice cream parlor area with great sundaes and milkshakes, and then what I call the"adult candy area" :) chocolate covered nuts, homemade fudge...you name it!! Even unique gift candies. They also have an area of jarred preserves, honey, candy chips for candy making etc... The place is set like an "old house" which adds to the whole atmosphere! It's absolutely wonderful! And as an added bonus I used the penny candy to refresh math skills with my young ones :) .....you have $1.00 you can get 100 one cent candies, 50 two cents candies or how many five cent candies? What mixes could you get?". Yes, they actually do have candy for a penny!! ( Well the last time I was there they did ) also 2 cent candies etc and you do get the old buckets to go around and "shop" :). The fact that you can actually get 100 pieces of candy for one dollar excites children and my wallet!! There is an area outside to sit and enjoy your treasures :) HIGHLY RECOMMEND SKINNERS...

It will take more than a month to try all the flavors. French Vanilla was "10". Don't forget about the "penny candy" room in the back with lots of favorites. Seemed a little less stocked than I remember as a kid but that may be due to things having to be individually packaged. Still fun Lil favorites. Hashed out history of the shop with the pleasant Marshall. Cheery polite crew of young ladies scurrying around scooping Good Ice cream!...

You can also find commercial favorites there; they have a large collection of assorted Jelly Belly beans and lots of other popular candies available. However my personal favorite staple of Skinner's is the ice cream, that's what keeps me coming back again and again! They have an enormous selection of hard ice cream that you can enjoy straight up, on a cone, as a frappe, or in a variety of creative sundae options. There is something everyone can enjoy here, I highly...
