Kim's Hair Salon — Local services in East Hartford

The owner is the barber, one who shampoos, customer service and also the one who cleans. She worked by herself and her appointments were back to back- because she operated all by herself. She rushed and I felt rushed. She didn’t listen to how I wanted my cut to come out. I showed her pictures and she barely looked at it. I told her that I had a photo shoot 2 days later and I can’t afford for my hair to get messed up but if she was sure that she didn’t need to take a closer look at the pictures and she knows what she’s doing that I trust her. She ended up cutting so much and my right side looked completely different from my left. When I said that she took too much off my right she attempted to take more from that same side. I had to move away at this point as I didn’t want her to ruin my hair more than she already had. I told her that she’s too fast and she didn’t listen. In the end she said to let my hair grow for a month and I can go back so she can fix it. I wasn’t gonna trust her with my hair again. There’s no way I’m going back to this salon. Worst service and cut I’ve ever gotten. I chose this place because of the reviews about her knowing how to cut Asian hair. I 1000% DO NOT agree. I gave this hole in the wall a chance. Do I regret it...

I went Kim's hair salon today, 3/18/2017 around 11am. Waited there 1hour30 min, then the owner said the other customer needs to be get the service before me since he told her that he made a prior "APPOINTMENT"... but that person said NOTHING for 1:30min...He told her when I was in restroom after waiting 1:30min. So, I am so angry so I just came home without service...... she ruined my SATURDAY!!! She should have told me she had two "APPOINTMENT" customers!!! But she didn't say it. What a BAD customer service!!! Why should I spend my valuable 1:30 hour there? no more first come, first service? Why she didn't know the second person was "appointment customer"?? Why he didn't tell her he was "appointment customer"?

anyway, I will not use this hair...

went to there in Saturday based on all the good reviews from goggles map and I think I found a good place to deal with my thick Asian hair. But because of lack of communication, she didn’t really get what kind of haircut I wanted and started quick hair cut which finished in 20 mins without washing. I would say she is skilled at haircut but she doesn’t get my ideas clearly. My haircut turned out a little off my ideals. Make sure you have the pictures and ideas ready...
