Fiancé tore his ligament in his knee we didn’t know at time. He was taken by ambulance to Edenton, they didn’t even take proper imaging then sent him home when he couldn’t even walk. The nurse had a smug face as he was struggling to even get in the car. Later on when we finally figured out what was wrong in edenton the anesthesiologist wouldn’t clear him for his surgery, just say you wanted to go to your kids game or something because the minute we went to Sentara there was an immediate change in care and they were really pushing for emergency surgery, and because the Edenton anesthesiologist said he needed to get cleared by cardiology. when we went to sentara the cardiologist after looking at the chart the cardiologist was surprised himself that he needed to be cleared which delayed his surgery and led us to go to Elizabeth city in the first place. Taking it as a sign and grateful for the lack of care and hospitality from Edenton because god knows the post surgery care from this place, go to Sentara for serious things and save yourself serious problems and stress because if you guys would have done your jobs and actually listened to the patient the surgery should have happened when he was taken in by the ambulance and the ligament wouldn’t have receded as much and post surgery and recovery would have been better but thanks. DONT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING MORE THAN A COLD even then urgent care will...
Read moreThis is my second visit. First time I brought my daughter in and was sat in a chair by the main doer. No privacy and everyone walking by as I sit in a chair and hold my child. She receives a breathing treatment and is taken to a back room that seems abandoned or under construction. Both times receptionist act like you’re inconveniencing their free time when you check in. Second time came in for a injury and they never offered a wheelchair. Once in the back, there’s minimal privacy due to the curtains or hall beds that you’re put in. They didn’t even close the curtain so everyone walks past and stare in your face. But it’s helpful in listening to them treat and wait on someone who comes in hours after you because they know the staff. They are seen rather quickly. Meanwhile you sit in pain, never offered a blanket, meds or anything. Several nurses and staff constantly walked in and out. Never said anything to me, or introduced themselves. It was very rude and unprofessional. I felt as if I wasn’t even in this bed here as a patient. PA Heather was attentive and very nice. She listened to me and explained everything patiently. Otherwise the visit was a complete waste. Better off taking the extra time and drive for better...
Read moreMy son was transferred there with horrific pain in his mid section and very high blood pressure. The first night they were wonderful, trying to get him comfortable and his blood pressure down. Then they ran a CAT scan and nothing showed up on it. So, they ran a second CAT scan, and nothing showed up on it. So, the doctor and his nurse decided there must not be anything there because it didn’t show up on the CT scan. So they accused him of being a drug seeker and making up the pain. They threw him out of the ICU. He was transferred to where I was basically told a person is a drug seeker until proven, not guilty by his nurse. My son is on disability due to severe anxiety but was told by Nurse Holly in the ICU that anxiety is a farce and he can control it! He has been with therapist for years but she thinks it’s a farce? Trust me, I am coming for that horrible place with legal guns blazing. My son is suffering horrific pain and they call him a liar? Well, we’ll just see...
