I always try to visit The Edenton Farmers Market whenever I travel to Edenton. This is an unbelievable market. The people involved in developing this market have gone from a little outside yard event that did not have a permanent location to building a beautiful permanent structure located right near downtown Edenton. The new structure was resurrected from an old run down gas station and with the help of the community every step of the way a dream has made it's way into becoming a vision with a mission to give back to their community. The love and support of the community have been the backbone of funding and building this wonderful market. Inside you will see information on all those remarkable businesses and individuals who have helped this market become a focal point for friends, neighbors and visiting tourists to share .
This market sponsors learning activities for children and parents in which to share and participate. Offering fresh foods for everyone regardless of budget. Their Creative food program allows people who have EBT cards to actually doubles a families opportunities for fresh foods and produce thanks to a grant program that allows the market to double the value of the EBT card monies. Another grant is sponsoring healthy food in conjunction with local health care professionals.

They are open on Saturday mornings 8 to noon, and on Wednesdays afternoons...
Read moreI wish there were more vendors. I'm so glad we stopped. I was able to get fresh picked broccoli & carrots for my broccoli cheddar soup. It was soooo good. I also picked up a jar of yummy pickled beets, a fresh apple pie that my husband didn't share, fresh loaf of bread, and my favorite button towels. Those are so hard to find since nobody makes them anymore. Loved all the designs but only got 4. Next time I hope she is there with camping designs...
