Wow. Absolutely horrible is an understatement. I found the staff and customer service to be rude and evasive , even to the point of being dishonest.

I was told by telephone that they pay $2 under spot price per ounce for 999 bullion. Upon arriving, a woman ask me what I needed and I told her I had silver. But I never told her that I talked to somebody on the phone earlier. When she asked me how much I had, she offered me $40 less than what was told on the phone. When I suggested $40 more, she called Chris in the office and responded that OK, would be able to do that.... instead of just giving me the original price that they had quoted on the phone in the first place, instead of trying to be dishonest.

Then after they opened the bag with my silver, she then says that the bars may be fake and they have to do an acid test, and because they weren't pretty and shiny, they were non-conforming bars and so they could only offer $13 per ounce, which is $4.00 per ounce under spot. EVEN THOUGH EVERY BAR EXCEPT TWO were mint marked.!!

So, in the end, they were offering $1,300 for $1,700 worth of spot price bullion. Basically, an instant $400 profit.

Here's the best part, I told them I was just going to hold on to it, and that I wish I could get a better offer somewhere else. And I walked out. I called another place less than 5 minutes away in Pleasantville New Jersey. I walked in, and three minutes later had $1,570. for the same silver.

The place and Pleasantville told me they have been scamming people for over 20 years.

Whenever I go to AC and have gold or silver to exchange, I go to Beachcomber. They pay the best prices around and are honest forthright people who respect their customers above all else. At either location I always do well and walk away feeling I have been treated fairly! Being in the antiquities business for nearly 50 years, I know the value of what I bring to their table. Knowing they need to make a profit as well, whether I bring precious metals, sports collectables or comics, I am always confident that what I received was the best for current market value. Their knowledge of area trends are impecable! The staff is very gracious of my business, which can be so hard to find these days. I walk out with cash or a check that is cashable at no charge at TD bank less than a mile down the road. We made an appointment to come and see what the coins would be worth. I told them it would be my fiance and i (2people) When we try to ask the woman about certain coins ; she wasn't knowledge able about the coins. We had very rare coins and wanted to get an appreasle and a grade on them. It was my mistake on asking if you guys do grading on them. Her customer service wasn't appreciated at all.
