Oh my God, OH MY GOD!!! Talk about your hidden gems! Forget Atlantic City, this place was the real jackpot! Stopped by here on the way to AC with my wife after searching Google for breakfast spots near AC. The reviews were right on the money for a change. Cozy place with excellent food and staff! As soon as we walked in the cashier/hostess Lea I think her name was, complemented my wife on her outfit, then the owner Jay came over and greeted us with a big smile and firm handshake. Once seated we were served with excellent coffee by an awesome and very friendly waitress named Maryanne! She told us how everything was fresh and made from scratch which I could see was true! The place was packed but we didn't have to wait and were seated right away (yesterday). I ordered on recommendation the chicken and waffles (HEAVEN ON A PLATE!!!) My wife had the Shore Special which was also great! We left there happy and satisfied and full!! Today, (Monday Labor Day) we went back since we stayed overnight at Harrah's (horrible) and once again JJ's saved the day. This time there was a line out the door, but we stayed knowing it was worth it for the deliciousness waiting inside. We didn't wait long however but can you believe that in the meantime the owner, YES THE OWNER Jay came out to those of us waiting on line with a tray of coffe with creamers and sugar for us to drink while waiting!!! I couldn't believe it, who does that in this day and age?!? Especially an owner!! Amazing!! This time I had the biscuits with sausage and gravy and home fries and more excellent coffee, my wife likes to play it safe and had the same as yesterday, but looking around I could see everything looked delicious. The guy next to us had the French Toast bananas foster which looked incredible!! If I lived close to this place I'd be there EVERYDAY! Friendly staff, Great food and excellent service, what more could you ask for?!? Oh, and the prices are great also!!! Huge portions, had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming!! This is a 100% honest review from someone who appreciates good service and JJ's is above and beyond!! If you're reading this and considering where to eat near AC, look no further. Thank you Jay and everyone else and thanks to the people who rated it on Google making my choice easy. Amazing amazing amazing!! Definitely more...

This is one of the best breakfast places I have been to in a while.
#1 appearance: From the outside of this place you would never think they would have good food. Well this is a perfect case of "don't judge a book by its cover" the inside is cute but very very small. I wouldn't come here with a party larger than four people
#2 service Service was great. I couldn't have asked for more. We did not have to wait to get seated. The waiter was very helpful in helping us pick out what we wanted to eat and was very friendly. BUT, what sealed the deal for us, was the fact that owner JJ stopped by our table to see how everything was and to welcome us to Atlantic City. I told him we were yelpers and that we found his business on yelp and we're really looking forward to all the great food chooses we heard about. It truly was nice to see the owner care so much about his customers.
#3 My boyfriend had fresh toast, eggs, bacon and home fries. I had corn beef hash, grits and an omelette but after trying my boyfriends fresh toast I got an order of that for myself lol. Food is really good, everything is fresh and homemade. I mean, I am really picky about my breakfast and usually just stick to ihop to stay on the safe side but these guys give ihop a run for their money.
#4 price The price is budget friendly. We ordered all of the above plus drinks and our order only came to 30 something bucks. YOU CAN NOT BEAT THAT.
All and all I really enjoyed my time here. My only regret is that I found this gem on the last day of our trip to Atlantic City. We will definitely be back the next time...
Read moreLet me preface this review by saying that I understand restaurants are still adjusting to the new norms, but my boyfriend and I have been out many times to eat for breakfast at other places and didn't have a poor experience. I really wanted to leave a good review but the experience here this morning wasn't a good one. I've been to JJ's before at their old location a couple years ago and it wasn't like this. Maybe they've bitten off more than they can chew with the larger location now or they're understaffed right now. We got there and didn't have anyone in front of us to be seated and it took 15 minutes to be sat at a table with many tables sitting unbussed where people were previously sitting. So this wasn't an issue relating to the 25% capacity ordinance. The woman who eventually sat us was also a server who we saw running to answer the front desk phone a couple times while we were waiting. When we did get sat, a server did come and take our drink order, but she told us she'd be right back to take our food order. It took about another 15 minutes for her to come back to take the food order. And it took another 25 minutes to finally get our food which wasn't anything intricate. To boot, my breakfast platter that was supposed to come with sausage was missing the sausage. We really don't like to complain particularly during this difficult time but we did say something to our server because the wait was so long in combination with missing food. The bill didn't get adjusted. Really disappointed with the whole experience this morning. With so many other good breakfast spot options, we'll be...
