I have watched uncountable people making mad dashes though traffic, speeding, no turn signals, driving with complete disregard for theirs or others safety, and never seen a Highway Patrol pull any of them over. In addition I have been handicapped since 2018, and watch perfectly ambulatory people using handicapped parking and never seen any law enforcement issue a citation to those people. I have two cars registered in my name and only one placard has been issued. Of course whenever I would drive and park the placard would inevitably be in the other car, so after I had two placards, one expired and one newly issued, I copied the the new placard and pasted it on the old placard so each car had a placard. My wife never uses it since she feels it would be unethical, so I'm the only one that uses it for parking in handicap parking spots. And, of course, the highway patrol who can never be where a crazy driver is until they cause an accident and never seem to be anywhere neat any ambulatory people taking advantage of handicap parking, would nail my wife and issue an $800 citation! She's a week away from getting a knee replacement and would have plenty of justification at that point to apply for her own CHIPs was right on the ball nailing her, while seemingly unable to do anything about the actual people endangering peoples lives, and blatantly using these placards so that when I and other handicapped people need a parking place, we get to park farther away and pass by perfectly ambulatory people getting into empty cars in handicapped parking as we walk into stores. Hows the saying go? "There's never police around when you need them?" It way my fault about the duplicate placard, I figured they couild alway veriy the serial number to validate if the placard was issued to me since both cars are registered in my name. Sometimes I forget to take the placard off the rearview mirror, and my wife doesn't always pay attention to it since she doesn't use it. But, it's amazing how diligent you are at nailing the wife of a US Coast Guard/US Navy Vietnam War era/Gulf War I, retired veteran. Decades ago, it was not uncommon to see CHIPs with lights going chasing down a speeder, why is it so uncommon to see that in the last two decades? Last time I had a run in with CHIPs was in the 1990s in rush hour traffic on the I-8, when keeping pace with traffic, my motorcycle, clearly showing a base sticker, was pulled over for speeding, out of a crowd of other cars all going the same speed. I learned then that "equal protection under the law" was just a slogan, not a fact. And it was proven...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got pulled over by one of the police officers on a bad day and I got really upset because I was driving all the way out to Yuma for work and work that whole day for nothing because I had to pay for that ticket and I took it out on the poor officer who was just doing his job. What I don't appreciate is him giving me some kind of mental evaluation that I have to take with the DMV now without even telling me what it was which was very unprofessional but that was the only time he was unprofessional with me that night. I got to give it to them those guys were patient professional and hard-working and I do appreciate them God bless us all we're just trying to survive in this world and God...
