Plaza Healthcare and Rehab Center — Local services in Elizabeth

May I add to my previous review that my husband has swelling on his face because he is battling a disease that only god can heal and I went to visit him one day and notice his face exstreamly swelling abnormally than usual and he was loosing oxygen and they failed to send him to the hospital instead they make him a doctors appointment and it was then the doctor that said no I'm not going to see him because his face was to swollen and to take-him to the hospital it and had to be put on a ventilator for a few day's in ICU and they didn't know how long that he was going to be on the ventilator thank god he didn't have to stay on it long I then went to the plaza to find out what happened to my husband and why his swelling went unnoticed and no-one didn't know anything they couldn't give me a reason why all they told mentor come back and talk to the director of nursing tomorrow and she should have a answer but she didn't all she said was that he didn't look in de stressed or like his breathing was being effected by the swelling and no swelling was noticed the day that he was taken to the doctors and it was plain to see anytime the transportation guys that's picking him up noticed it and asked me if he normally swells like it was noticed because they failed to do their job and pay attention to the patients so I wouldn't recommend this place to no-one I showed them pictures of my husband on the ventilator in ICU and one of the nurses said that he normally be on a breathing tube and showed no compassion for him and she know dam well that my husband wasn't on no ventilator because she has him since she been there may I add the place is not clean all of the time it was times that I went in my husband's room and it was tissue and paper towels and gloves on the floor over flowed garbage can hallways smell like piss at times no Matnance to clean his room for days I did it and when they cleaned it they swept empty...

I want to talk about the nursing home I'm at it's called The plaza nursing home and rehabilitation center in Elizabeth New Jersey this place has been so great to me the staff is outrageous the nursing staff are the best we have a excellent administrator who's trying to do everything for all the residents I've been in a few nursing homes since I got sick and this place is up there with the best it's the best one I have ever been in it's clean the food is good the staff is amazing every time I Ring My Bell someone's at my door helping me there are some days I need a lot of help and they're there the physical therapy staff are truly amazing they said I would never walk again I have severe narrowing of the spinal canal and spinal stenosis they're the worst things that you can have as far as the back goes I had my back operated on seven times already and the surgeons that I see at Newark University hospital can't believe that I get around in a wheelchair but back to the nursing home the place is clean that you don't have to worry about nothing the laundry is amazing they take your laundry down and the following day you get it back in your closet hold it and put on hangers you couldn't ask for a better place I want to thank all the staff nursing CNAs especially the administrator and his staff they are doing amazing amazing job I hope I hope I continue getting better like I said the physical therapy staff said that they would get me walking and standing up and that's exactly what I'm doing thank you to them also I'm glad I'm here and not some other place that's all run down and horrible somebody thank everybody again keep up with the great work your special resident...

This Place Deserves An -10 Star..When I Say This Place Is The Worst Of The Worst, Please Believe Me..Hopefully I Can Save Somebody From Sending Their Love One Here..If I Had An Dog, I Wouldn’t Leave My Dog Here..Ok, Let’s Go..Let’s Just Say My Mother Stayed At This Place 48Hrs Too Long..Placed In This Facility And She Went From Wall to Wall Carpet, to an place with dirty floors..This place is filthy!!! My Mother even said they got mice running around..They Put 3 or more patients in an room just say they got room to get the money instead of saying they don’t have room for people..The 2nd Day My Mother was there, she end up having an seizure because she was so stressed out about being there and they tried to say it wasn’t an seizure but luckily I have been around my mother to witness her having seizures otherwise I wouldn’t had known myself. Day 3. I Come Back To visit My Mother And She has an twitching in her forehead(Eyebrows jumping) And Her Left Hand Uncontrollably Shaking which she couldn’t stop and nothing in the charts of what happened with last night episode of my mother having an seizure. So the nurses on coming shifts didn’t know what was going on.. I Said I’m Done, My Mother needed Medical Attention & They just left My Mother There & No Help, So I Took Matters in My Own Hands & dialed 911 & took my chances in with the E.R. Then To Leave My Mother In That Place With Medical Attention where I Health Could Of Gotten Worst!! After That, I Packed Up Her Belongings & Moved Her Out!!! Like I Said, 48Hrs To Long!!! Hopefully Somebody will get this & Will not send your Love One To This Place..Hopefully I Can...
