3rd visit here. First visit last year probably would have earned 4 stars, but some things seem to have gone down. Visit 2 my order was messed up, no big deal, mistakes happen and they credited me for the mistake. What got me was the lack of good customer service, but again, could have just been an off night. Tonight was the mail in the coffin, unfortunately. The ice cream is decent, nothing special, but the customer service is seriously lacking. High school kids with zero personality or any clue how to speak to the general public. That’s not even the worst of it. The sanitation is awful. I’ve worked for a restaurant for 14 years now so I’m hyper aware of these things (thankfully.) one kid kept running his hand through his long hair, next to the ice cream, then did not wash it. The other kid had gloves on, but he was scooping and cashing people out with the same gloves. I saw him serve 4 families and cash them out all with the same gloves on. Looking behind counter there were overflowing trash cans and the counters were filthy. It looks like some (re?)training might be necessary and some higher food safety standard be implemented. Also, super overpriced. It’s Giffords ice cream. I can get a tub of that at the grocery store for $4 without the side of teenager hair...
Read moreBeen here several times, got amazing milkshakes, came in 6pm wednesday 7-24, to get some funshakes. They have pictures on the wall. We pointed to 3 very elaborate milkshakes with a huge amount of toppings. The young lady who was alone behind the counter said she'd do her best. It took her 20 minutes to give us 2 vanilla milkshakes with 1 reeses and a few pieces of Hersheys, balanced in cups, melting profusely. She kept stopping to help other people, never finished our others until another girl came in and made something that looked at least a little like the picture. Those 3 milkshakes and another cup of ice cream costs 55 dollars. I had to ask for more toppings to try and not disappoint the kids. What was given to us was a laughable comparison. It was like ordering off wish .com. she said sorry we don't have all the ingredients. Ok so you didn't put any on it then? Sorry I'm the only one working. Ok didn't know that meant you didn't need to even try. Sorry we don't really make those right now. Then why is it listed on the menu and you have a picture of it up and accepted the order.
It's just ice cream. So I paid for it, kept my comments to myself apologized to the kids and just probably will not be back. And If I do and she's working again I'll leave....
Read moreI've been following The Scoop on Instagram for a while now and have been really looking forward to visiting since. I finally got the chance to drive out to try it but I have to say I'm severely disappointed. My impression was that it would be this sort of destination spot that had extravagant and interesting sundae's and what not but everything was written out on a bunch of chalk boards and it didn't even seem like they had a the type of selection they advertised. So it was confusing and overwhelming to find one of the grand deserts that I'd hoped for. On top if that the atmosphere was pretty unwelcoming too because the girl who worked there clearly didn't like her job. Didn't say hello or anything, and while I was browsing I felt so rushed to make a decision, I ended up settling on a very basic sundae. And it wasn't even very good! The consistency was bizarre, similar to that of froyo or like cookie dough, and the taste was off somehow. I don't know. I am just honestly very dissatisfied with my visit, and it certainly wasn't worth the price or the time wasted driving out of my way...
