Love this place they have a good selection and great pricing the smell when you walk in is amazing great lunch options and snacks.

However the attitude here is iffy at best I don't know if they expect you to have a certain look to shop here but the staff in thee back where you can buy spices is flat out RUDE! and the rest of the staff is not much better some are polite and seem to enjoy life but from my experience many are just not polite I chose to eat healthy and spend the extra to do so I shouldn't have to fit an Earthy criteria to be treated like a paying customer other then that it's a great place to bad you have to feel like you need to get in and...

My husband and I really want to like John Edwards, as we live in Ellsworth and it is the closest grocery store to us and within walking distance. Overall, I like the selection they have and am glad they have a lot of locally produced goods, but the prices are SO so high…they charge literally TWICE the price for the EXACT same products you can get at Hannaford. We want with all our hearts to support local businesses and producers, but it’s just impossible for us to do that at this store. Invest in incentivizing young professionals to stay...

Amazing gem of a local market with lots of products you won't find at the chain grocers down the street. Local organic produce, a large bulk section, an herbs and spices window with an insane selection and quantity options. If you're looking for local and/or organic brands or international ingredients, this is the place. There's also lovely selection of wine and an art gallery in the basement! Don't miss the bakery cases and prepared foods fridge at the front of the store....
