The Shop — Local services in Englewood

AVOID THIS PLACE I was looking for a new Barber in my area and came across "The Shop". I called in and made and appointment without a problem. When I showed up my Barber asked what I wanted and then the weird began. He then asks another Barber how to do the fade I asked for. A fade should not be that hard for a Barber in a Black/Hispanic shop. He kept asking for input from 2 other barbers during the entire 1 hour and 45 minute haircut. 3 of those times the other 2 barbers snatched the clippers from his hands and took over. Then when the blade came out he seemed to be trying to skin me as he cut me at least 4 times (I can't see the back of my head but was told it was very red and irritated). Needless to say many of my friends had negative comments about the haircut before I even mentioned the bad experience. I've been calling to speak with a manager about it but no one is answering the phones. I honestly should have walked out but by the time I wanted too I was too far into the cut and every time I asked him to fix something he ended up making it worse. 4 days later and I still have irritated skin, and a scab....

Had my hair cut by Johnny Blaze today. This man had me in the chair and done in under an hour!!! UNDER AN HOUR!!! I walked in there with my hair chopped and screwed by another barber and was a little nervous about whether he could pull off the cut I wanted considering the state of my hair. (My regular barber is in Manhattan and I needed a quick cut, so I had tried another barber who didn't pull off what I needed.) I walked out of The Shop on cloud 9!!! Johnny was attentive, patient, and very knowledgable. This man is the truth! I watched him cut someone else's hair while I waited and dude was out of the chair fresh too!! I am so feeling myself I had to write a review!!! If you're looking for a barbershop in North Jersey, I completely recommend this place. I did not see one weak cut in the place. I started coming to the shop 2 years ago because I wanted to try a new barber, and I stayed because I found a great barber (Johny Garcia aka Blaze) and a barber shop that treated everyone that walks in with respect and makes you feel like you're with family. The barbers that work here are what I call "good humans". It's such a good barber shop, that when I drive by I stop to say what's up to my barber (not joking).
