This is the home depot I've been going to for almost 20 years and I have never been treated like I was tonight... I walked in knowing what I wanted an extention cord very simple I was coming from working 11.5 hours and wasn't "shopping" as I walked in at about 10 till 9 I noticed that some bulbs and spring plants were out I walked past them making a mental note to check them out next time.. The plants and garden centers are an important part of why I spend lots of money at home depot. As I was heading to the aisle where the cords are I picked up a couple of plants put them in the cart š and turned up the aisle I was halfway up the aisle when I realized the cords were on the next aisle over so as I headed up to the aisle I hear someone yelling at me sir! Sir! you need to come on the store is closed the store is closed I said I said okay here I come what I need is on the next all over I'm going to pick it up and I'll be on my way he says no come on come on bring your plants and come the store is closed at this point I am instantly irritated because I feel he's speaking to me disrespectfully now standing at the end of the aisle and I'm almost at the other end yelling at me and as you know the aisles in Home Depot are long so him standing at the end of the aisle I'm almost at the other end to the center of the store and I can hear him his voice was loud š I said to him that I will be to the register shortly, he threated to call security on me if I "didn't c'mon" and said I don't know how you going to buy your items if the registers are shut-off I said oh well if they're shut off when I get there I'll just come back tomorrow and get it but I'm going to get it right now I said to myself I am not going to come to the store be a few feet away from what I want and walk back out after making a trip when I was already tired and just wanted to go straight home good luck so I go by the extension cord grab one real fast I didn't even really get to look for what I wanted because I was being crushed and I start marching towards the registers and if you know me you know if I'm not feeling it my face is definitely going to show it... As I was heading to check out a nice lady who worked there told me to have a good night and then very quickly asked had I found what I was looking for... I explained to her know I hadn't found when I was looking for because I was being rushed out of the store... she said oh no you don't she said come on let me go help you find what you're looking for so you don't have to rush out of the store we are still here...., she took the time to ask me what I was looking for and then very promptly help me find it how long does that take a few minutes and that was it she even escorted me to the register and helped ring up my items with a smile on her face and was very genuine she knew that I was treated very poorly by her coworker it upset me enough to write this... I wish I would have got his name because I'm definitely going to report him and seeing that I'm at Home Depot on a regular basis especially this time of year all the time so I will see him and when I do it's on and Poppin I am telling how you treated me. And I bet you didn't get out of the store any sooner than if I had never came in there so was it really worth it? Very unprofessional... Home Depot needs to train employees better than this even though Home Depot is Right around the corner from where I live I will drive all the way to Lowe's so that I can be treated with the respect that I'm entitled to a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAvoid this store at all costs. Besides being generally chaotic and messy (items strewn on the ground, abandoned carts full of goods, etc.) the staff is downright useless. What should have been a 10 minute pickup of a simple item turned into an hour of runaround and waiting on lazy associates. I asked where wallpaper is kept, as the website says a particular item is in stock, but after three people canāt help locate any I go find it on my own (near flooringā as if that makes sense). Guess what isnāt in stock? The item I need, despite the online inventory reporting there are 8 of them. With no employees in sight I make my way to customer service and ask about inventory. The associate pages flooring, and we wait ten minutes but nobody ever answers the page. We see an employee go sit at the flooring department desk so Iām told to go talk to him. I get there to find him writing up a purchase order, but even after looking directly at me I was never acknowledged even though Iām basically hovering over the seated customer making hand gestures and waiting to find a suitable place to interrupt the conversation. Apparently he couldnāt be bothered to answer the incessantly ringing phone either, let alone to pause for one second to answer my question. I say āexcuse meā a few times and after being told āIāll be right with you...ā for the third time I finally interrupt only to be met with immensely passive-aggressive irritation. The customer I interrupted didnāt mind at all, in fact he was surprised I waited that patiently. The associate looked up the item on his tablet and resigned that the inventory count must be wrong. No apology for wasting my time, no explanation or offer to look up inventory elsewhere. Another employee was walking by and offered to show me where the wallpaper is (been there, sir, but thanks). I left the store and will not return. I ordered the item online to be shipped to home instead āin a week, which was what I was trying to avoidā at least that part wasnāt a nightmare.
The associate working the customer service desk (Sean, I think?) was the one redeeming quality of this location. He was the only person who at least seemed to care that it took me an hour of standing around like an idiot only to be told ācanāt help you.ā Even still, he offered to call a manager to listen to my complaint but Iād have to get in line ā which was already getting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really enjoy browsing Home Depot's aisles. However, I am amazed at the lack customer service, even plain old courtesy displayed by a good number of Home Depot associates at this location yesterday. It appeared to be stocking day and/ or price changing day as there were associates all over the store. The first I saw upon entering the store were two cashier's standing at their registers/stations in the garden department, about 10 to 15 feet apart. I entered the door and followed the aisle between them offering a smile and a friendly nod. They continued their conversation with one another across the aisle completely ignoring me. As I attempted to shop the household cleaning aisle there were two employees blocking it with just themselves and a small utility cart on wheels. They saw me attempting to look for items in the aisle and trying to maneuver my cart down the aisle but fell short of even the slightest acknowledgement or effort to move themselves or their cart so that I could pass. Out of the numerous other employees I passed by on my trip, from one end of the store to the other, only one asked if I needed help. No others acknowledged me in any way.
Finally, when I had to ask an employee for help at one point, she was able to summon a gentleman to locate an item for me. He seemed polite and knowledgeable and was able to point out the item for me.
The saving grace, and only reason for a three star review rather than 2, was my interaction with Kathryn in the Garden department. I had already checked out and, on my way to the car, stopped to ask her a question about one of the plants on clearance. I was thrilled that she was so knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and so willing to answer additional questions from this novice gardener. Thank you, Kathryn! You rate a 5+. I hope to run into you...
