Oriental Massage — Local services in Evans

my experience was HORRIBLE! To begin the receptionist or any of the workers could barely speak any English so they were not able to explain the process or answer any questions. My husband and I went for a couples massage. me and my husband were placed in the same room and we were told to remove all of our clothing so we did and laid on the table. But when they re entered the room we were also asked to remove our underwear. Without giving any time to reply the lady was almost ripping my husbands underwear off and I told them that I was not comfortable with doing so, but she kept persisting against my will but later just left me alone. next part was the massage, we were asked if we wanted hard, medium, or soft pressure and we both agreed to medium thinking that it wouldn't be so invasive. But boy were we wrong it was painful, extremely painful. the massage hurt so bad that we had to tell them to go to soft which was almost not even better. All during the massage they were talking in their native tongue, and bumping things, making noise, and going in and out which made the atmosphere non relaxing. So 30 minutes into the massage even though I had told the lady that I wasn't going to take my underwear off I felt her snatch mine off and by then I was annoyed and uncomfortable. So while the hour was winding down one of the ladies tried to get us to buy 30 more minutes but with her not being able to really speak English you couldn't understand what was being said and we almost got tricked into buying more, until I made her fully explain. Updating my review since I went in today for the first time since COVID-19 and wanted to share my great experience.

They closed down for several weeks after COVID began (presumably for safety reasons and to update the space with precautions) and just reopened. I am taking COVID-19 very seriously so was nervous to go back, but I couldn't have been any more pleased with how they handled it. Signs at the entrance clearly indicate masks are required, they took my temperature and didn't let me start the massage until it was in the normal range (I had driven over with my AC off, so was a little hot when I first walked in). They have a plexi-glass barrier at the register and everyone is wearing masks. The masseuse even had on eye protection and a face shield. The space was being wiped down constantly and they had hand sanitizer available. They even replaced the water dispenser with a small fridge full of individual bottles!

This is an example of a business that is doing an A+ job of reopening responsibly; and I was more than happy to tip generously to include the few months of visits I missed. Can't wait to go back for my next visit!

Original: After a decade of being a loyal customer at westernized massage spas and "clinics", I converted to eastern style and Oriental Massage is my favorite spot in the CSRA. Instead of the experience feeling clinical, with lots of paperwork and having to book weeks in advance, I can walk in and get a great bodywork session immediately. Very bad experience. When I walked in lady said it had been a very "slow" day. Now I know why. The lady who gave me the massage acted very shady. At first she did not want me to remove my socks for some reason. She then proceeded to remove them herself anyways. At one point she had a towel over my head as well as the cover. I asked if I could remove some of the cover or the towel on my head as it was very hot in the room and I was sweating. She almost yelled "no no cover must stay on" as if I had implied something bad or sexual. After this I felt very uncomfortable. At one point I wanted to end the massage so I asked if we could end around the 30 or 40 minute mark and I would just pay whatever was owed. The lady replied "no we cannot do this" and proceeded anyway. During the massage she kept almost shoving the cover between my legs which was very weird. After the massage I noticed a flyer on the wall that said we could indeed end the massage at any time if we felt uncomfortable. Under this flyer the number for their manager was displayed. Which said "call this number at any times for any concerns". The number on that flyer is fake and is a bank number. While paying for the massage the same lady kept insisting I give her a tip and after denying because I had already payed $75 she mean mugged me and I asked if she was upset which she replied yes to.
