ETA: unfortunately I had to update my five star review to two because of appointments consistently starting late. I happily rescheduled twice to fit their schedule. I was five minutes late when they were finally able to see me, which I’ll take accountability for, however then Fatima didn’t start my hair until 40 minutes after my appointment time and said “first I had to wait for you, then you had to wait for me.” I get that I shouldn’t have been late, but five minutes is very different than 40 and I think the fact that I rescheduled twice should offer me some flexibility. Appointments starting late consistently happens, they seem to overbook themselves and then not appropriately calculate how long each style will take them to complete. My advice if you’re going to book with them, try to get the first appointment of the day or schedule on a day where you have no plans because it’s not likely your appointment will start on time. My advice to the business is to please stop overbooking, and please recognize that many people do not have flexible schedules that allow them to have such delayed start times

Fatima is the best braider, has the cleanest salon, and the customer service is stellar. She is thoughtful about your comfort and will set you up with a show to watch during the longer sessions 😅 I have gone twice already and am already thinking about what style I want to do...

I was fortunate enough to find Kalajula's Beauty and I recommend them! I asked a couple of questions (about the braiding hair & method of payment) via Instagram prior to my visit. I received helpful and prompt responses. I liked that they generally keep the salon doors locked. I was welcomed into the salon and advised that my stylist would be with me shortly. I had to wait for a little bit but my braids were done quickly, so no complaints! Pretty Tima did my braids and I really like them. My edges are thin but the braids look good. They are lightweight and very neat. Not too tight. I got small knotless braids, mid-back. I curled the ends a few days later. I was given a choice to make the ends curly at the salon and just chose not to at the time. Also there was a sweet little girl at the salon. I believe she is the daughter of the owners. Very well behaved. First impression is that this is a warm, family environment. I did the big chop and I've been trying to grow my hair back out. I really like this style and the quality of the work.
