Not worth money, especially when you are double-charged
The trip itself is very much dependent on pure luck, what animals you could see. We saw some glimpses of dolphins, plus ospreys and pelicans. Not too much, as for a 1 and 1/2 hour boat trip.
The worst part was about the booking process - we made a mistake while booking and chose the same day instead of the next one.
I have realized that just after completing the payment online.
For the whole day I tried to contact this company (few unanswered phone calls, left voice-mail message, sent an email) asking for a transfer of booking to the next day. I got no answer, reply, even though the automated voice-mail system assured that they will call back.
So, I booked the trip for the next day, hoping to get this double-charging sorted out on the spot when we arrive.
Unfortunately, what I learnt on the spot was that if I accepted the terms, I could not be refunded the double charge, and they did not answers my efforts to contact them because âthey were busyâ.
To me it was a bad experience on how poor the customer care can be. So, if you still want to book the boat trip there, make sure you make no mistake, as this will be...
Read moreThis review is for the 10,000 Island Boat Tour. We toured as a family of 3 adults and 2 kids (aged 2 and 6) in early February. From start to finish, we had a wonderful experience! The staff was helpful and understanding. The lady at the front desk called us on the day of the tour to remind us of the tour and alerted of possible delays enroute. When we realized later that we lost our way, she was very considerate in talking to the boat captain to wait for us a bit. The tour guide was a NPS ranger. She was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and had a deep love for the fragile wetlands. We, of course, saw the mangrove islands but also saw a variety of wildlife - pelicans, cormorants, ospreys, and bald eagle. Highlight of the trip was the unexpected visitation from a friendly pod of dolphins! Their antics around the boat made the day for our kids! The boat itself was clean and safe for kids to move around. It is wheelchair accessible and had a bathroom on-board. You might want to have a light jacket with you as even though it was in the 70s we did feel the wind-chill during the periods when the boat was speeding...
Read moreThis was a lovely way to spend a two hour, comfortable boat tour through the open waters of the Everglades. We were surprised that there was so much open water in the Everglades. Michael, our Captain, was a so knowledgeable, and we learned the history of Everglades City, saw some special homes and the Outward Bound Camps, learned about some of the sea birds we saw, and saw porpoises and learned not only the difference between these and ocean porpoises but also about their âwhistling,â which we heard, and how they use it to communicate. Michaelâs assistant also came around and offered to take pictures of us. How nice was that!
Let me also add that I am deaf with two cochlear implants. I brought along an assistive hearing device which Michael wore and which allowed me to hear his narration. He checked several times to make sure I was included. He could not have been nicer. In fact, when we checked in and I told the woman, she came down before boarding and explained to Michael and introduced me. I could not have been treated with more care than the staff and crew at Everglades National...
