This is an VERY RUSTIC place! The seafood is GREAT! It is what your Uncle Joe would catch that day and invite you for a fish and shrimp fry on his own dock. Also...Uncle Joe got some Stone Crab Claws too! Trust me...Uncle Joe is a great cook! Do not think this is a restaraunt. It is a "sitting on the dock" "semi-fast food" cooked as you order kind of place. There is no precooked food sitting under a heat lamp. You order and pay in what is almost a shack with a lot of nice character! There is even a sign that they will use unclaimed children as Shark Bait😃! They call your order number over a speaker then pickup the food at a dock window. Seriously the seafood is a fresh as you can get! I recommend ordering only the local caught sea food. Try the Shrimp, Grouper, Coleslaw and Hushpuppies. Unfortunately the Fries and Onion Rings seem to be frozen but I am not sure. The Calamari was OK but I really don't think that it is local. Unfortunately we had an adult order a Hamburger that was disappointing to be understated. A 11yr old ordered the Chicken Tenders which looked local battered. He gave a thumbs up but he left half on the plate (not normal). The place can use a good cleaning and organization / removing some clutter. The bathrooms need a remodel or at least a good cleaning but Uncle Joe's place would probably look the same. The Grouper Sandwhich basket was the BEST! Make sure you get the Cole Slaw and Hushpuppies to go with it. I would have given this place a 3 because of the cleanliness which there is NO EXCUSE! As far as the hamburger, not everyone eats seafood and therefore you need something else on the menu. It makes me crazy that they would serve a poor burger! Anyone can make a good hamburger if they wanted to. Give me just a frying pan and with only a little effort I can make a pre-frozen hamburger 100% better than what they servered. To end...I raised it to a 4 because I will go back for...

Horrible service from the lady at the cash register taking our order. We asked about the price of the crabs (since it was market price and not listed), she asked if we wanted small, medium or large - we said medium. Then we decided to order other dishes but she charged us for the crabs. When we noticed she had charged us we told her that we hadn't ordered them but she insisted that we had and continued to insist we had to the point that she got extremely rude. We eventually asked for our money back and she told us to "get out of here". We've never been treated so badly at a restaurant. We had been looking forward to having a nice lunch by the water and this person (probably manager or owner...not sure) was so utterly nasty that it was shocking. I was there with my wife and 3 children. This happened on the Saturday after Thanksgiving 11/27. If you read this, you need to get out of the restaurant business because you're burnt out and nasty!!! My advice to families is to...

First off, the customer service was awful. Two older women smoking cigarettes that work there and touch the food- smoking right next to us while we eat on the dock. French fries were gross and soggy- shrimp had good flavor but not all of it was cooked all the way thru. Bathrooms were disgusting- place was very dirty- found two black long hairs in my basket and took it up to them- there was no I'm sorry-she just grabbed it from me and started talking to another customer. The skinny older smoker with dark hair had on a glove for preparing food and was smoking with it on! Lol that's supposed to protect customers from the germs and here they are smoking. Wow. I had to remind the "manager" to say sorry since nothing was said to me. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Unless you want dirty fried food complete with hair and cigarettes. Could be such a great place if had new staff with actual...

Wow! Best Crab Cakes. Home made right there and the yummy key lime pie too. Can I just say that I think their cheeseburger was the best I’ve ever had also! Still van living in Florida over our first winter here. We stopped here after our Everglades National Park boat tour in Everglades city, Florida, at City Seafood 702 Begonia St, Everglades City, FL 34139. Everything they say is true “City Seafood is proud to be the best seafood restaurant in Everglades City, FL. Our delicious seafood restaurant is well-known for our stone crabs while our seafood market is known for offering fresh alligator meat, fresh seafood and frog legs. Come and experience our beautiful outdoor seating in order to view seagulls, manatees, and alligators in the Barron River as you enjoy your delicious food. Since our seafood and stone crabs come straight from our fishing boats, we have the freshest seafood selection around.” They were so helpful in helping us to choose what to order. I love seafood but I don’t want to see their eyes while I’m eating them 🦀 😂 Discovering divine nature through people and places with our DIY campervan, Mr. Knightley 🚐 We're on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube ✨ ##fulltimevanlife##vanlife##fordtransitcamper##rvlife##happycamper##restaurantreview##livingmybestlife##crab##seafood##crabcakes##bestcrabcakes##bestcrab##bestseafood##cityseafood##bestburger##everglades##foodreview##foodie##evergladecity##floridafood##florida##nationalpark##boattour##CapCut##view##restaurantlife##restaurantview##interesting##marine##marina##crabs##goodnighttrail

Go here for the atmosphere/scenery, the food is good also. They have great hush puppies, my fried shrimp and blue crab were good along with fried alligator (a must when in Florida). The grilled, blackened shrimp was fresh and had a nice kick. My son had fish and chips which was a bit bland but fresh and cooked well. They offer cold beer, bottled wine and sangria and non alcoholic drinks as well. You order in the market, take a seat and they call your number. One reviewer said the staff was not very attentive which I’d agree with and it wasn’t too busy the day we were there. It’s a bit “rustic” but a fun experience. They do have a place to dock a couple boats which was nice. It’s also one of about three restaurants on the water.

This was a lunch stop for the Everglades excursion we were on and very well worth the stop. I ordered the basket of buffalo gator bites with fries. I didn't get a picture of the food because after one bite I didn't stop. They were breaded with buffalo sauce in breading and deep fried. Very tender and flavorful. I highly recommend this as something to try. I bought a slice of Key-lime pie with as far south as we were and most places in Florida that sell Key-lime pie don't use real Key limes. Hers is a recipe she created and it's perfect. Just the right balance of sweet and tart. Great place to eat.
