Speedy's Airboat Tours — Local services in Everglades City

We paid our money and boarded our airboat while clouds were rolling in. Never once did the boat captain or cashiers mention their rain policy. The rain hit about 15 minutes into our ride, so the captain gave us ponchos. We spent about 5 minutes putting those on and about the time we were set to go we heard someone on the radio say, “there looks to be a tornado or water spout coming.” Our captain then stated, “oh s* we have to go.” The next fifteen minutes was spent with our heads in the ponchos and/or eyes shut due to the rain. We made it back to the dock and the cashier said she could give us a $7 refund per person because we came in 7 minutes short of our time. Due to the rain storm, which was obviously out of their control, we were really shorted about 27 minutes. After calling to discuss anything the business could do to turn our negative experience into a positive one, multiple people on the phone stated that their rain policy states no refunds. Again, they never went over the rain policy with anyone in my party even with the signs of rain coming in. Poor customer service from this company due to lack of information they provide about their services. I would not recommend them because they do not care about your experience, only the money you...

My visitors went on a ride with Capt. Kevin on August 1, 2015. They didn't see any wildlife, which we were told could be the case. But my daughter told me that the Captain never spoke but to ask if anyone had any questions. I had specifically asked for a driver with personality and a sense of humor, so that even if they didn't see anything, they'd still have fun...with the driver, and a wild ride. That didn't happen. I was so disappointed. When we took my son out (with another company), we had a ball...due to the Captain!! He made the trip...so funny, and entertaining. I will not go back with out of town company again. We will go to a different place. We tipped Captain Kevin...I don't think the other passengers did...that was before we heard about their trip!! We had an 11:00 reservation, got there at 10:20. A boat was leaving at 10:30, and we got talked into taking it. We had requested Capt. Hoss, who took the 11:00 boat out. Wish we'd stuck with our original reservation time. Waste of money!!! ...

We had lots of fun here, and great prices, better prices than other places. Boats are small which is good, 6 seaters, and the seats have some hight. We saw little wildlife but that was ok, the ride and the trails through the swamps was super fun. I think the air boats scare the gators away. its a nature tour not a wild life tour. Clint was a very good guide, very skilled with driving the boat, which doesn't look easy. There is no other way to experience the swamps of the everglades. we paid about $45 each. No need to pay for unoccupied seats or anything. No price gouging here. No hidden fees. Honest business. No credit card needed for reservation. Excellent staff. Good place to each lunch next door.

And if you are driving down highway 41, go to shark valley visitor centre to get your fill of alligator sightings for free, or $9 to rent a bike. But don't miss the airboat ride!
