Cool store, the owner was unbelievably rude. Asked what brought us in, and if we had a project going on. We answered just to look, but that we would have a home renovation project starting soon. He immediately started talking under his breath trying to get us to leave. Saying things like “ okay, come on time to go” “any day now.” Either he thought we couldn’t hear him, or he wanted us to hear him. Super strange. We’d been in the store for no more then 5 minutes. Unfortunate, because I absolutely would have considered buying multiple items I’d seen when the time came, now I absolutely will not. There are plenty of other local antique shops, where customers are treated with respect. Take your business to one of them, not to this place.
In response to the owners response:
Seriously? Come on man. You very well may have been messing with your CD player or radio but trying to say you were “telling the radio” to hurry up and play music is ridiculous. It was incredibly obvious you wanted us out of your store, both from your body language as well as the words coming out of your mouth. You were following us from a distance and literally looking at me while speaking...
Read moreWe've shopped at Cam's for years and always enjoy the experience. His wife is amazing and donates so much to breast cancer organizations. Joe (Cam) can describe in detail each of the chandeliers and help you find what will fit in your space, keeping in mind what you like and your price point. (The French chandeliers are mine, btw. Hands off!). In the basement check out the beautiful wood panels he saved from the dump and recreated a space in the basement that reminds me of old fashioned libraries filled with cigar smoking old guys talking either finance or sports. He can be a little short, but take the time to ask questions about what you're looking at and he warms right up. Is there really a need to ding the reputation of a store that as been there for years? Nah, not really. Try being nicer. And no I'm not friends or relatives, I just...
Read moreMy husband and I have bought many items from this store. I was so sad to see some of these reviews. Firstly, the back half of the store is run by Cyndi and a large portion of sales is donated to breast cancer research. Cyndi will dress you head to toe in vintage and classic garb. She's always full of laughs and smiles. She will easily brighten your worst day. Secondly, Cam, the owner of the antiques and lighting is exceptionally knowledgeable and kind. I always look forward to sharing a smile and learning something new. I hope that moving forward people will take the time to get to know Cam before writing a negative review that could impact the success of his store and decrease the breast cancer research donations. In a time when our society is so focused on acceptance, these reviews were so quick...
