Where do I even begin with Flamingos Coffee Bar? If you're still in the dark about this java joint, well, it's time to wake up and smell the coffee...quite literally!
Walking into Flamingos, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee hits you like a frisbee - a frisbee of pure joy and caffeine, mind you! It's like they have a secret society of coffee beans that conspire to brew the most aromatic elixir in Exeter.
The baristas? They're like caffeine wizards, wielding their espresso machines with a finesse that can only be rivaled by a flamingo ballet...which, now that I think about it, might be their secret training method. They're always ready with a smile, a joke, or a fun fact about flamingos - did you know a group of flamingos is called a 'flamboyance'? Talk about taking your theme to the next level!
Now, let's talk about the decor. It's like stepping into a flamingo's dream. Pink, yes, but done with such panache that even the most hardened anti-pink-ite would have to admit it's tasteful. And the flamingo motif? Everywhere. I'm pretty sure I saw a flamingo watching me from the ceiling at one point, though that might have been the caffeine talking.
And the baked goods! Oh, the baked goods. Imagine, if you will, a croissant and a muffin falling in love and having a little pastry baby. That's what these taste like. A beautiful, buttery, crumbly love child.
In short, Flamingos Coffee Bar is like a little slice of paradise. It's a flamboyance of fun, flavor, and fantastic coffee. It's more than just a coffee bar - it's an experience, a destination, a flamingo-themed wonderland. I give it 5 stars, two thumbs up, and a bevy of beak claps. Flamingos Coffee Bar, you had me at 'hello', and you'll have me back...
ย ย ย Read moreI was very excited to try this place out but ended up very disappointed. I ordered online, which was very convenient, then went to pick up. Parking is limited so I had to walk a bit which I did not mind. I walked in and was not greeted and stood there awkwardly waiting until someone asked me if I was picking up. I of course answered with a friendly yes. The woman told me "it's right there" and showed me where there were a couple sandwiches with a slip hiding underneath. She then walked away without offering a bag or anything which I once again wouldn't mind if I parked nearby. Not a thank you or have a nice day or anything.
I paid just shy of $40 for two tiny sandwiches and a coffee. I knew it was steep but was hoping the food would make up for it. Unfortunately, that was not the case. My sandwich was gluten free and on a teeny bagel with too many toppings to hold it together. To make it a bit better I just ate it open faced though it was still awfully messy. The worst of it was that the bagel itself was like a jawbreaker. I couldn't even finish it because it was hard and chewy. I'm not sure what happened there. The second sandwich for my colleague was on two end pieces of bread and barely had anything in it. The coffee was delicious I must say but given the quality of service, cost, and lack of consideration when making the food I will certainly not be returning or...
ย ย ย Read moreWell! I was just looking for a cup of coffee โ and a pastry to wash it down while waiting for my laundry ๐งบ. I visited and liked the Flamingos in Hampton so I thought I would give this one a try. ๐ค Ummm! I guess I am not who this cafe is aimed at. It was 99% women. There was one guy there and he was with a woman. I think ๐ฌ I stood out like a sore thumb ๐ but no one gave me a mean (girls) look. A few women looked at me but I think it was just "Oh." I had a Snowball Espresso, with coconut ๐ฅฅ, vanilla ( ๐ต Ice, ice baby! ๐ต)and marshmallow, and an Angry Donut Cinnamon Roll. Both were good ๐ but I did not get a lot of liquid in my espresso. It was delicious though! It was loud ๐ in there and the music ๐ต was actually quiet. I wonder if it was people talking over each other. For women, I recommend this cafe. For men, they have online ordering. You can have both hot or iced drinks. WiFi available. I don't think it was "disgustingly pro-women". I think ๐ค that this cafe became a place for women to hang out, relax and to have their own space. If men can have their own "Man โ๏ธ Cave", then why can't women have their own "Woman โ๏ธ Cave":-) I wonder if the Angry ๐ก Donuts ๐ฉ are from the cafe in Newburyport? They...
