Omfgggggggg you have to stop in this gem of a place and buy yourself the fresh-squeezed orange juice. They have a machine right at the front when you walk in that squeezes the oranges by the size of your choice.
When I was checking out, the cashier told me it would be the best orange juice I’ve ever tasted, and that I’d leave wondering why other orange juice doesn’t taste the same and start questioning what they’re even putting in the store-bought stuff. Honestly, I thought she was exaggerating. She was one thousand percent correct.
This was the most delicious orange juice I have ever had the privilege of tasting. It was so good that we came back the next day and bought even bigger jars of it. I don’t know what kind of magic they’re working in that area with those oranges, but the juice is sourced from local farmers and it’s absolutely unreal.
And while the orange juice is the star, I bet they have so much more to offer. There’s a whole wall dedicated just to liquor and a separate section filled with every kind of drink and beverage you can imagine. Whatever you're looking for when it comes to eating and drinking, they probably have it here.
This little corner store also has the sweetest people working there. Everyone is helpful, kind, and you can tell this is a small community where everyone knows each other. My friends and I are seriously considering going back just for the orange juice.

Read moreStopped in at this local market on the way back from Sequoia National Park. The cashier was very friendly, greeting visitors and answering their questions. It seems most are foreigners and tourists passing through town to visit or leave the nearby National Parks (there are three in the area). The aisles were clean and bright, and I was able to find the items on my list quickly. While I might have saved a little money at the chain stores in the nearest major town (Visalia), it would have been a 30+ minute drive each way. This local market is a great little gem in one of the most scenic towns in the Southern Sierras.
They had a good selection of fresh produce, which was a welcome sight after a few days of park food. I even found some locally-made souvenirs that were much more unique than the usual park trinkets. This market is a perfect example of why supporting local businesses is so important, especially in gateway communities to...
Read moreFor a small town market it is nicely stocked with a good variety of foods. The local coffee is wonderful and the meat department is good. The young man in the meat department was great about doing my request of 1/4 pound each of 3 different cheeses. One drawback was the produce man, when I asked where the ginger root came from he said sometimes China but he didn't know if that batch had, and I had to ask 3 times to get that information; he acted as if that question was really putting him out. Since it's a California law to post where the produce is grown, I felt that he should at least know where it originated. They have a very large wine selection, including Organic Wines from California. The prices are a bit better than one would expect from a small market quite a distance from a...
