Very Disappointed with CVS Pharmacy's Lack of Transparency on Fees Iâve been a customer at CVS for years, but a recent experience has left me frustrated. My daughter who is finding her independence went to pick up her prescription and was shocked when I was charged an unexpected fee that wasnât mentioned anywhere. There were no signs, no prior notice. I had called to speak with the pharmacist Stephanie to ask why the fee was this expensive and not brought to our attention before the pick up and explained my daughter would know about the ability to refuse because she is 18 and is just starting to do this on her own, She then proceeded to tell me that when she was 18 she knew how to handle this situation because âshe was in pharmacy schoolâ. When asked about a return policy so we could see our options with the generic brand that would cost less she said they can not accept returns, when I mentioned the bin that they have for donations of unopened and unused meditation she said itâs to be destroy but we all know how the healthcare system works and that is probably being put back on the shelf. She did however explain to me when I called that the drs office had called to give a discount on the medication because they knew it was costly, in all of these conversations, we still were not aware of the fee until my daughter picked up and nervous on what to do.
I spent time searching through their website, but thereâs no clear breakdown of potential fees either. Itâs incredibly frustrating to feel like CVS is hiding extra charges, especially when I rely on transparency when it comes to medication costs. If youâre considering using CVS for your pharmacy needs, be prepared for hidden fees and lack of information. Iâm seriously reconsidering my loyalty after this experience. Very disappointed. Will be looking into other pharmacy options...
Read moreThis is the absolute worst pharmacy I have ever used. Do not use this pharmacy if you have a choice. I had to use them a few times due to an insurance issue, and every single time was a nightmare! Today being one of those times - I get a text saying my prescription is ready, I pulled up to the drive thru just after 1:00pm. Drive thru is closed so I head on inside. Of course there is a line (always) because the technicians here are utterly incompetent. So I stand in line for 15 minutes, I have one person in front of me when suddenly the entire pharmacy staff stops what they are doing and shut down the pharmacy. With a line of customers halfway up a random aisle, these people literally just stopped what they were doing at 1:20pm and the entire staff went to lunch without saying a word! Obviously not going to sit in a CVS for over an hour while the ENTIRE STAFF goes for lunch, so I wasted 15 minutes just to have to go back and do it again. I'm not mad about the wait, or them taking a lunch break, but I'm angry as heck at how they handled it. There was never a "we're going to go for lunch at this time, so we're not taking anyone else after this person in line." No apologies for having to wait so long, nothing - just the regular ignorant, rude staff acting like their customers are the biggest inconvenience in...
Read moreUnethical and a call to the Board of Heath is warranted. My husband takes insulin. We called Friday for the refill to stay ahead before he ran out. Monday went by no script called, left message on answering machine. Get a call back that the script is expired? Dr.calls (again) we go to CVS. Lantus was switched to semglee (cvs tells me this) script expired though? âŚpharmacist suggests calling Dr. we go to Dr. in person. The Nurse tells us she personally called the script in on Monday, we also have huge delays in the communication from cvs with the answering / call back system because the pharmacist isnât talking to you. Anyway, night two without my husband who is 63 btw his long acting insulin, I even asked the pharmacist for suggestions about purchasing long acting insulin through Walmart to cover his blood sugar through the night and she said she didnât work for Walmart? I said âyou sent us to the Dr. they are not closed and said they called the script in several times.â They are closed now itâs been two days! They send us back to the Dr. thanks Brooks and Alyssa the pharmacist. Oh and Brooke yelling at me was in called for and so was hanging up on me a patient! Weâre not customers...
