My wife and I placed our orders sitting at the bar. My wife’s order came and she waited to eat because my order hadn’t come and we wanted to eat together as we always do. After waiting 5 to 10 minutes my wife started eating so she can eat a warm meal. I continued waiting for my buffalo Mac and cheese but it did not come. After several attempts to get a waitress’ attention, one did approach and questioned if I got my meal yet and I told her that I’ve been waiting for a while. The waitress said she will check with the kitchen. The waitress then served several bar customers then returned and told me she didn’t know what happened but the kitchen did not have my order. She told me it will be a few minutes. Twenty minutes later my meal arrived and my wife was just about finished with her meal. I began eating and after a few bites I could not eat anymore because there was way too much buffalo sauce on the Mac and cheese. At NO time did any waitress approach to ask if everything was okay. Two or three waitresses did find time talking to each other and one did come by and took my wife’s EMPTY glass and walked away. Several attempts were made for my wife to get a refill to finish eating. I pushed my meal aside and three different waitresses came by and asked if I wanted a conditioner to go…..NO ONE inquired why I did not eat nor did ANYONE asked if everything was okay. My wife and I eat at many different restaurants and have never been to a restaurant where NO ONE checks to see if everything is okay or if you need anything or a refill……This was our first visit to SOCO and we found it VERY DISAPPOINTING. We would normally give a new restaurant a second chance if someone SEAMED to care about our visit but at this point I DOUBT A RETURN VISIT……WILL NOT...
Read moreMy daughter and I finally got a chance to come eat here. It’s always so busy so we made a reservation for 5:30. We got there early which was no problem, the hostess sat us right away. Our server Brian was over very promptly getting our drink order and bringing us waters and homemade potato chips. For drinks we had the Painkiller, which was fantastic. I ordered a Swiss and mushroom smash burger (they come doubled )which was good and cooked perfectly, the mushrooms were fresh, not canned, and the garlic aioli was great. The fries seemed handcut and were also very good. My daughter ordered the chicken, biscuits and sausage gravy..let me start by saying, the sausage gravy was homemade with sweet Italian sausage, not too thick, not too thin, the homemade biscuits were so flavorful, and the buttermilk fried (brined) chicken was so tender and tasty! The garlic mashed potatoes were also homemade and great as well. For dessert we split the triple threat chocolate cake..:definitely shareable! The whole experience from the time we walked in to the time we left was superb. Brian, our server was so efficient, very personable, and polite. The hostesses were friendly and all the staff looked happy to be there. The decor gives an art deco industrial vibe. I noticed they have outdoor covered dining which I’ll try to sit at next time. The prices were very fair. The dress is casual. I think we found a new favorite place. 5 stars for the whole experience and definitely recommend! Edit- we decided to go check out the Ricotta be kiddin’ me pizza the next day for lunch, and a watermelon sugar high- absolutely spectacular pizza, not greasy, everything...
Read moreMy first visit to the new SoCo Tavern was nothing short of spectacular, thanks to a winning combination of exceptional service, a vibrant new look, and some seriously memorable food. The revamped space immediately caught my eye—modern, welcoming, and buzzing with a great vibe that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile.
The bartenders, Asia and Sharon, were absolute gems. Their warm energy and quick service made the bar area feel like the heart of the tavern. They mixed drinks with flair and kept the conversation flowing, creating a fun and lively atmosphere. One of the waitresses, Josie, went above and beyond, especially when she took the time to track down the WiFi password for us—a small gesture that made a big difference. Don’t forget, they’ve been open for just four days. Everything is new.
As for the food, my Bacon and Onion Smash Burger was a total knockout. Juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor, the crispy bacon and caramelized onions elevated it to one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. My date’s House Salad with sweet poppy seed dressing was a revelation—the dressing was unlike anything we’ve ever tasted, with a perfect balance of sweet and tangy that made every bite addictive.
SoCo Tavern’s fresh look, incredible service from Asia, Sharon, and Josie, and standout dishes like the smash burger and that unforgettable poppy seed dressing make it a must-visit. Whether you’re grabbing a burger, grabbing some oysters, or just soaking in the vibe, this place delivers. Jake and his team have a winner on their hands. We’ll...
