They may not be a "one-stop-shop" like Walmart is, but I'll go out of my way to get my groceries here over Walmart anyday.!! They have the things you love, need and want in stock 99% of the time instead of once every 6-12 months if you're lucky like Walmart loves to do. They also have a large selection of foods and such that you won't find at Walmart or a lot of other grocery stores. They have helped keep Andree's alive, they have fresh sushi and sushi rolls made daily and we can't get enough of the Greek shop located inside the store - I can't say enough good about this Piggly Wiggly!! Walmart, in particular, could care less about their customers and that's a huge problem for me, they'll continue to lose as long as all they worry about is lining their pockets even more like the Walton family isn't already one of the richest families in the world. Well, Walton family, maybe you should take notes from these guys because they go above and beyond for their customers....I know it's unlike anything you've ever done. Maybe you should try it out, but I still wouldn't choose your nightmare over the Pig's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt would be great if Piggly would clean the cart/buggy handles. Since they are put into the storage area without circulating (pushed in on one end, pulled out on the other) the handles are extremely grimy and gross. I bring my own hand wipes to clean the handle of my cart. I shouldn't need to do that.
Best beer selection in Fairhope, bar none, is the Big Piggly right off 98 in the mall. Just fantastic selection.
Never eat sushi from Piggly wiggly. Not only did I get seafood poisoning, I feel like I also got oil slick poisoning. There was salmon, tuna, and some sort of white fish in the roll. I took a photo of what was left.
I also found a huge worm in a pack of frozen scallops from Lartigue's seafood in Piggly. I'm guessing the sushi fish is from Lartigue's. It is probably why I got sick from eating the sushi.
Thank you, BP! Thank you for purposefully poisoning Southerners with an oil platform designed to fail from concrete made with seawater. Thank...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI go this store a lot. Generally once or twice every week. They have the west wine selection and prices in town. They have a great selection of locally and regionally produced food items and sauces. They have recently remodeled the deli/hot bar, salad bar, and gourmet cheese areas. They have beer on tap and a selection of fine cigars from Bouch's ( a local great cigar store). The sole reason they do not have five stars is that the produce is often lacking. They have the basic produce but compared to everything else in the store it is just not quite up to level that it should be. Returning to the other great things about the store - they even have restaurant supply items for commercial kitchens or if you are like me and just want a huge jar of pepperoncini peppers because you seem to go through them too quickly. Check it out. I highly...
