This is a review of the store management and the district manager of the Food Lion at 308 Marion Square, Fairmont, WV 26554, only.
INTENTIONALLY DECEPTIVE PRICING!
I visited this store on 7/30/24 at about 12:30 p.m. I was going to purchase chicken wings and was pleasantly surprised to find them on sale. OR SO I THOUGHT! A couple of the packages on the top of the others were marked "Managers Special" and I grabbed those and a couple of others. The two packages with the same sell by and packaging date that I grabbed next weren't marked as being on sale so I asked an associate if he would check that out and have those two packages marked with the correct price. A very pleasant young gentleman came out of the back and I explained the difference in prices and asked why there was a discrepancy. "Michael" shared with me that it's Food Lion's policy to mark some items as "Managers Special" and to NOT mark some of the identical items on the same shelf as being on sale. I inquired as to why and Michael explained that Food Lion, (at least at this location), does that so some customers will see the "Manager's Special" tag, and hopefully for the store, select the identical item that isn't marked down, and pay full price. I asked to see Michael's manager and was advised by Michael that his manager couldn't do anything about it because it was Food Lion policy to "push items" in this manner. IF YOU CHOOSE TO SHOP HERE BE AWARE OF THIS DISHONEST AND DECEPTIVE TACTIC THAT THE OWNERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT AT THIS LOCATION PRACTICES! Ā Ā Ā Read moreI shop at food lion in fairmont west virginia I shop for door dash at the store I went in there just a few minutes ago and an employee that used to be super nice to me was running the cash register and her light was on indicating she was open I didn't have many items I start to go down her lane and she got really rude with me and told me she was closed then proceeded to give me dirty looks so I went down another checkout lane after apologizing and as I am done paying for the order and I am walking out she was checking out other people I find that rude and very unprofessional there is another cashier there that is very ignorant every time I go in there so avoid her line on top of that there are many occasions the employees will sit out by the store on their breaks yelling horrible things to people and talking bad about people this is a very unprofessional place and yes sometimes I am a customer myself there. There are other employees that make u feel at home there and comfortable but I don't think I will be a customer myself there anymore unless the problem is resolved these people are representing this place of business they should be more professional and respectful especially dealing...

He refused to manually enter the number on the card in order to complete the purchase. Saying that it was against policy to manually enter a gift card number. When I found out about this occurrence, I called to further inquire with disappointing results. I will be contacting someone above his head. If a store is going to refuse to accept their own gift cards, why would I give them my business. I could have gotten a gift card to somewhere else, but food lion already took my money.
