Amended after followup: Spoke with Doctor and explained to me new process set in place and made sense. Apart from that his services are top notch and truly listens to your concerns and addresses them with precision and efficiency. Had long days at my desk and he immediately addressed the problem even giving advice on how to avoid the pain in first place.
Original review: Have been seeing this doctor for about 3 years and have brought family members as new patients out of pocket since we don't have insurance. Prices were fair, and the doctor was always accommodating and Kind. This last visit, however... I brought 2 friends who I highly recommended this place to and assumed it was going to be the same fee for a first-time visit without any extras being required... little did I know they were now pushing for x-rays for new patients after I explained we were out of pocket and would prefer not to get x rays done the people I brought also stating this. To which they received a response, we can only treat you if this is done... to which they felt they had no other recourse. Meanwhile, this is all happening while I'm in the waiting room waiting for them thinking everything is going well. Until we all go to the reception desk and get slapped with $450 in fees, my friends were blown away as I told them the initial visit would be $75 and 50 per visit. I was embarrassed and distraught after I explained to the office staff my initial concern of not wanting to get x-rays done on a routine chiropractic adjustment. Me seeing chiropractors for decades after suffering a car accident. Now they argued the doctor had to have x-rays done to offer proper treatment.... but again, when I first came to this place, I explained my history, and never once after going after several visits did I ever get even mentioned x-rays. never once was I required to have x-rays done before I can be adjusted at any other chiropractor ever and this is me seeing over 7 different chiropractors over the years only changing due to distance from home. So I was surprised when my 2 friends were slapped with these fees, which they felt forced to be administered too. I left this place more stressed and disappointed with how everything turned out, and out of sheer embarrassment, I covered their fees since I was the one who recommended this place in the first place. This is a warning if you are out of pocket, avoid this place they will suck you dry if you have insurance that has good coverage, this place is great.
Suggestion: If your new policy for new patients who complain of discomfort is going to be x-rays are required, that should be said the moment they pick up the forms. and a flat fee should be charged, including the X-rays. I understand this is not a concern for folks with insurance but for those out of pocket, we like to plan our expenses, and when we hear an initial, that's what we expect to pay. So just a recommendation for out-of-pocket patients, offer a new fee that includes everything your doctor will need to...
Read moreThe doctor is great, I can’t say that the receptionist is even close to that. She’s actually quite the opposite. Initially she turned me away because she said that the doctor didn’t accept my insurance (which is false) and I explained that he does etc then she told me the plan was only good for NY? Im not sure where she came up with that but thats also false. Then a few hours later i spoke to her again explaining that I had even confirmed with my insurance carrier that this is covered (something she should’ve done) etc . She asked me to sign a form stating that I would be responsible for the bill if my insurance didn’t cover - I let it go and signed . It’s been 3 weeks going into 4 now. I’ve never seen her crack a smile , she says hello to no one walking in, she doesn’t address you by name (I’ve been there 9 or 10 times already) and if you have an appointment it doesn’t matter , it’s first come first serve but you have to figure that out for yourself because she doesn’t acknowledge you .
If you’re looking for an overall adjustment or someone to examine to your balance or adjust based on that , this is not the place to go. The doctor focuses on your trouble area and adjusts according to that. He tries to get you out asap and accepts walk ins which is great. There are no examinations of hip or shoulder symmetry or aligning of the spine in its entirety . It’s a quick adjustment that requires...
Read moreAm suffering from Spinal Stenosis. Legs are very weak and a bad left knee. Has been getting worse over the past ten years. I found out about the Fanwood Back Relief Center and started going there. Met with Dr. Eric and his staff. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I understand that chiropractic help is not a cure all for everything, however it did help me to a good extent and for that I am happy. The various treatments I received going there did in fact help but most importantly, it directed me to a better path for me to better helping myself at home. Medicare covered my treatment, however Medicare probably not cover it over a long term. My opinion. So to Dr. Eric and his fine staff of caring people, I thank you all very much for your help. I now can go up and down a flight of stairs pretty much on my own. I recommend going there to see for your self and meet the staff. Best part, you can go there anytime and just walk in. Just a follow up from my last posting last year. Still feeling good and things are getting better, Be sure to sign up for the e-mail listing. Has a lot of good information, Thank you Dr. Eric and...
