The young lady who range my purchase up was very nice and curious. The few staff people I encountered were pleasant and helpful. Always start with a positive. Sadly, there wasn't much more of a positive to start with. Just for starters, i nearly hurt myself trying to just get a smaller sized cart. They were sandwiched between large ones in an area too small to hold all of them. I had expected that the prices would be a little high (upscale building), but was shocked by just how much the prices were! I don't mind paying more for high quality, but this place was just overpriced. A lot of the plants looked to be in poor condition. Many of the plants were crowded on the shelves so leaves were broken off, looked under-watered, or were just not all that healthy looking. I had a gift card that I received for Mother's Day so my budget was limited. I finally found a 2 for $20 sale on a very limited selection of hastas and the most pathetic 2 packs of annuals that were a bogo. If I could give 0 stars I would. We connected with Anne at the Home & Garden Show in February to do a large landscaping project for our home. I had to follow-up with her every step of the way because she didn’t follow-through on her commitments & get us information needed to finalize the install. What she did send us was nothing like what we had discussed. She kept not responding, pushing out timelines & now in June indicated they can’t do our project this year & after I voiced my frustrations told us we should find another company. We did & they are coming out tonight to look at it & schedule our install for this season. Thank goodness this didn’t work out as this experience was probably nothing compared to the nightmare an install would have led to. They will no longer get any of our business ever again. Baker garden and gifts is amazing. They have a wonderful gift shop with unique gifts for friends or even to treat yourself. They have a wide selection of plants, both indoor and outdoor. They also have every kind of accessory or tool you could ask for. But the very best part are the classes they offer. They are an amazing value, and a great way to learn and check out new varieties of plants. The staff are all incredibly friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. The prices are higher than what you would pay at Walmart or target, but the plants are also bigger, and much nicer. They are also cared for, so you know what you are getting.
