New Balance — Local services in Farmington Hills

I’m not sure what just happened??? I came to the store prepared to buy 2 pair of shoes but I left with NONE!! I had a seemingly nice young man, I gave him the particulars of what I think I needed. He measured each foot and began to tell me which shoe he thought would be a good place to start, I picked two colors and off he went to get them for me… He eventually came back (ever notice how long they take to come back when they don’t have your size)….🤔 Anyway, he came back with one box (wasn’t my size) and a lengthy explanation…I don’t have your size. This is where it got uncomfortable…he didn’t suggest/recommend or bring any other style! When I asked when would they get them back in, another lengthy explanation, that meant maybe some time in June after some upgrades are made to this style…🤷🏽‍♀️ I’m looking around the store at all of these shoes and you mean to tell me, there’s NOTHING else that could maybe work for me? And he didn’t say anything else to me…I just quietly put my socks and shoes back on and left the store unsure about what just happened??? I don’t like to think that it could have been something that I cannot control? Not Sure I will Ever come back…Heading to my Tried & True… Running...

If you need to replace your old, worn out shoes and can't find a decent place to buy them as it was happening to me, a close friend recommended New Balance at the 12 Mile/Halstead Rd store. So today, August 14th I arrived, found some customers being waited on and once in their store, I was approached by Jeremy, the store's owner. From that point on, all went extremely well. Let me give him my overall foot situation; what I was looking to buy; then he measured both of my feet and at that point went to get a few pairs of shoes for me to try on. A few minutes later he came back with two boxes of walking shoes, similar but much better looking than the ones I was wearing. He put one shoe on my right foot then a shoe from another box on my left foot, laced up both shoes and had me walk around to try them on. Both shoes fit beautifully. One pair I wanted I kept, another pair I wanted their store didn't have it in stock, color wise that is, and placed a phone call to another store. I will have the other pair in two days!

I was completely satisfied throughout. If it's service YOU want, it's here! Prices for each pair of shoes was $125 but the fit was right on! Bottom line: Why go...

Great products, great people, great service. I'm the walker in a family of runners, some of whom were employees at this store during their high school years. I was "lured" into buying shoes at New Balance Farmington Hills during one of their twice-annual sales along with earning special "family" kudos while there. Well, the family employees have moved on but I keep going back I'm still treated like family there and I have become more appreciative with the expertise of the staff and the super high quality New Balance shoes as I grow older and my feet share some of the aches and pains of the rest of me. When I am wearing New Balance shoes, my feet feel well taken care of. Thanks to the people there, my soul feels similarly. (BTW - latest purchase occurred during Michigan's stay at home COVID-19 period. Curbside pickup or free drop shipping was offered as well as an assurance to address any issues I may have with the produce afterwards. I chose shipping but offered to pick up their fees for that as a show of support for them being available during...
