I bought a beautiful cherry dining room set from Amish Originals. Nearly 9 years after the purchase, one day the leg of one of the chairs snapped. Quick reflexes averted injury. Not receiving a response from Carol at Amish Originals, I contacted a master carpenter who had done commissioned work for me and asked him to repair the chair. In his written assessment to Amish Originals, Terry (the carpenter) stated: "it was clear to me that you had sold him a chair that had been previously damaged, badly repaired and shipped out to him....there was a bad attempt at concealing that repair with stain and finish...Once I had removed the seat, there was clear indication of the fractured leg top that indicated stain and finish seeping out of these fractures." I contacted Carol and sent in Terry's assessment and requested reimbursement for the repair (a new leg had to be built). Carol's response was: "You have had the furniture for over 10 years. If there had been any manufacturing defect they would have shown up in the first 6 months." Convenient statement for them to make but needless to say, some concealed poorly done repairs manifest themselves beyond 6 months.

It turned out the handle was too small. They would not take it back and reimburse me for the handle; they said it was made to order of which was not; it is standard. The receipt I have from the store, not manufacturer said I could send back and get a refund. I will not shop at this store again when they don't honor...
