We made the trip from Gallipolis to the South point store because South Point being a large store displays much more furniture. Our salesman was Dale and he was very helpful while we were ordering our chair. He told me that we had a $300 store credit so I decided to get two lamps with that credit. He said the chair would take 6 months to a year to receive and he would keep me updated with frequent texts. He told me the lamps would be delivered to me within 2 weeks. We left the store very happy with our experience.
After a month of waiting for the lamps, I tried to call Dale at the store. I called two or three times and left messages with my phone number but never received a return call. I finally decided that maybe the easiest way to reach him would be through the website. That worked, and he did call me, although he did have a bit of an attitude saying he never received a message which wasn't my fault. I asked about the lamps and he said I owed money on the lamps. He never told me that while I was in the store, so I assumed I was using my $300 store credit. I had put a large deposit down on the chair I ordered. I told him I had put a deposit down on the chair and I wasn't going to pay anything for the lamps because in my opinion I was using my store credit. He said he'd have to talk to the manager and apparently she said okay, I don't have to pay anything for the lamps. Then I was told I had to go to the store and pick the lamps up. I asked if they could be shipped to me as originally promised because we live an hour away. Dale said no, you must come pick them up.
I drove to South Point and asked for Dale when I got there. He barely said a word to me and wasn't the same friendly Dale that sold me the chair. Apparently the sales people have two personalities, one for selling and another one when there's a problem. He definitely showed me his second personality. Then the manager came out to explain to me how their invoice works and why they wanted more money for the lamps and I told her that wasn't explained to me when I was there before. She told me all this in a very loud voice, as if she was yelling at me. I felt like everyone in the store could hear her. I don't know what the point of that was but it wasn't necessary. There's nothing wrong with my hearing. So I carried the lamps out of the store and drove the hour home. The only person who was nice to me that day was the guy in the warehouse who handed me the lamps and asked me if I needed help carrying them.
Now I am waiting for my chair and I haven't received any updates about it so that was another promise broken.
We just bought a new refrigerator but we went to the Gallipolis store for that. They are great to work with and I would highly recommend going to Gallipolis. Stay away from...
Read moreOn Saturday 9-16-2023 we originally went to the Teays Valley location to meet with a salesmen’s I had spoke with about the master craft couch a week prior. He called off sick that Saturday. (Which happens, not mad about that at all) A lady had came up to us once we walked into the Teays Valley store, and once we asked about the salesmen, completely different demeanor after she realized it wasn’t a sale for her. (Im assuming) She said for us to pick out our stuff and she would help him out on the process. We went over to the mastercraft area. She walked passed us once and never said a word. Then we walked around the whole couch area showroom and she never came back up or spoke to us. Employees were sitting at their desks chit chatting. And there were several customers in store. Whatever happened to a team effort? So odd to me. And yes I’ve been in sales before…. So our credit line walked right out the door and drove to the South Point location!! And Thank God we did! Immediately walking in McKenzie came right up and greeted us from the get go with a smile! I told her the situation from the previous location, and I said we are ready to buy today. And she was happy to help! Took us over to the master craft section, explained all of the different fabrics to us, and even helped with picking out the fabrics because I need another eye! Haha We literally had the couch picked out with the custom selections within 15 minutes. She was knowledgeable, awesome and a breath of fresh air! (Especially from the last location) Also all the employees seemed happier too, and they were all helpful if she needed anything. Pretty excited on our couch and will post photos once we receive it!! But big shout out to McKenzie for all the help, and finalizing a big sale!! We will continue to drive to South Point to deal with her instead of the Teays Valley Location. Even though the Teays Valley store is 5 minutes...
Read moreI have placed multiple orders (furniture, electronics, and bedding) with Big Sandy at both the Portsmouth location as well as at the Chesapeake location during the last couple of months. At Chesapeake, John was very professional and kind, and he made my purchasing experience smooth and painless. I was in and out in a few minutes and he found me exactly what I needed at the prices that I wanted. No hassle and no pressure. At the Portsmouth location, and because I placed many orders in a short amount of time, and because I made some changes to those orders, etc., that kinda resulted in a couple of issues with ordering and billing. However, those issues were mainly due to human error, which is normal at any business, especially during busy times of the year, but honestly, Julie and Brenda always stepped in and took care of business just like any professional would do. They fixed everything that was wrong even with smiles on their faces. They called me when they said they would call me, and they even emailed me every detail I needed to help with my orders; all done fast, efficiently and professionally. You don’t see a lot of professionals like that in this area these days. I received great customer service both before, during, and after I purchased what I needed. If you need furniture, go see Brenda in Portsmouth. If you have any customer service questions, issues, or concerns, call Julie. They will take care of you just like any professional would do....
