Initial session: I had my initial session with Dominique, the owner. While I walked on the treadmill she assessed my goals related to my fitness, personal life, and long term. She went over my medical history and current meds. I really appreciate how she asked me what I'd like to see change about my upper body and lower body. After the walk, she did a physical assessment. I learned very quickly just how out of shape I was. The entire session was an hour. At the end she went over pricing and I signed up. I appreciate the thorough assessment and personalized attention.
First official session: I got on a machine called the InBody. It tells you your weight, muscle percentage, fat percentage, metabolic rate and a whole bunch of other facts about you. Each month you get on the machine and it tracks your progress from month to month. They have different trainers there so this time I worked with a man named Taylor. After a warm up and stretch, I was put through the paces of an individualized workout created just for my goals and health needs. See, I came to training specifically because I had just recovered from a lower back injury. I had been in physical therapy for 3 months prior and had just been released to do physical activity. I wanted personal training to keep from having another injury to my back which meant strengthening my core. My first session was very challenging, but had me hooked for more. I was very motivated.
Now: I am in my seventh month of my training and my core is STRONG STRONG! Not only have I increased my core strength, I have lost fat, gained muscle all over my body, increased my stamina and endurance, reduced my A1c, and dropped a pant/dress size. I am very pleased with my results and look forward to what the next 7 months have in store for me.
Trainers: Every trainer is great at what they do. They are also massage therapist and give recovery massages as a part of the package.
Perks: They include packaged meal prep from Stu's Clean Cooking in the fee. You get discounts on services and you are generally the only person training in the studio at a time (no COVID worries).

When you cancel, their cancellation policy is that you must pay them for half of whatever contract you signed up for. So if I start and then decide I’ve made a mistake, what’s half of $2,250.00? $1,125.00. Pay them $1,125.00 to not use their service. What help did I receive? Stressful deadlines to meet appointments for tight hours on work days. No real dieting help, and constantly feeling like a paycheck rather than a client. The moment the hour was over, exercise coach is instantly gone. Or starting next client. I understand that you have a schedule but for $750 a month I fully expect to be treated like it. Here’s some better free exercise advice I learned and can gift to you.
Get your blood pumping with a 3 minute walk on a treadmill. Do a full body stretch (Calf stretch, thigh stretch, touch your toes, stretch hips, neck, shoulders, arms, forearms, s stretch.) you can now continue your workout with anything you want. Box steps, ropes, Russian twist, planks, or cardio. My favorite is doing arm muscle work outs with dumb bells. Lateral arm raises + single arm dumb bell row + balance lunge.
If you are looking to lose weight, here’s some actually good advice. When I attempted this service I was given a vague description of fruits vegetables and protein with rice and beans. Thanks no thanks.
I recommend removing carbs completely, I did and I don’t have to work out, I just lose weight. 30g carbs max, no netting, no math. If there’s carbs in your Avocado you simply count it in. No summer vegetables, no corn, no carrots, no squash. No fruits. Protein and green vegetables. 13 oz protein minimum a day. 1 chicken bouillon in the morning, 1 at night, all the fats you want, heavy cream, butter, oil. It’s working for me and a lot of other people. This would be considered a hard core version of keto.
