I ordered this for myself and a friend of mine late one Friday night. We ordered the steak, chicken and shrimp hibachi with fried rice, noodles, and veggies. I was relieved when they asked how we wanted the steak cooked. My friend has a 7 week old baby so we didn't want to go eat anywhere but wanted something good so I went and picked this up. It was really good! There were definitely not enough veggies in it (we are veggie girls) but the two of us splitting the one entree was MORE than enough food and we didn't come close to eating it all! The noodles were good, the steak and shrimp were good, the chicken had some sort of teriyaki sauce and it was good too! Didn't get any sushi, but would definitely consider it. The atmosphere was lacking for sure, I believe the location is in the old unemployment office on MLK and they didn't invest much in fixing the place up. I was surprised when I walked in on a Friday night there were no customers in the restaurant eating but there were several DD orders ready to be picked up. They are definitely fast! I didn't have to wait but a minute for my order and I could immediately tell it was a lot of food by the weight of the bag. It did spill out of the box into the bag, but that wasn't any big deal. We could have split it with even one more friend, that is how much we had left over, but all in all I'd...
Read moreReally impressed with everything we got. Tried the veggie Tempura, yakisoba, steak hibachi, and the Monster roll. I was blown away by just about everything. My one and only complaint is that the hibachi veggies were cooked until soft (and that's me really digging for a complaint. I just like broccoli to have some snap). The steak was a perfect medium-rare, well seasoned. The included fried rice was slightly sweet and bursting with egg. The veggie tempura was a little daunting size wise but very fresh, flavorful, and so so crispy! I really liked the included ginger sauce. The Yakisoba was perfection: noodles were tender, sauce was sweet yet savory. The Monster Roll was REALLY impressive. Who thought crawdad and cream cheese would pair so well with nori? I was pleasantly surprised at just how much meat was crammed into them. The hostess was friendly and attentive. All the food came out within five minutes of finding a seat and getting a drink. Yakisoba came last, but it was piping hot and well worth the extremely minor wait. I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem hidden just a few blocks away from my house! And better yet, they're open late! I will certianly be back...
Read moreI'm not sure if this restaurant was purchased or placed under new management, but either way--something changed. As an avid eater here I got my normal monster roll it was HALF the size as it usually is. For the price I was appalled because it's never been that tiny. We also ordered a steak+chicken hibachi--only received steak--didn't realize it til we got it home to eat it... called up there and was told I could come and pick up a side of "free chicken." LOL. Its literally fraud from what it was the last time I ate there back in August.
Oh plus their "atmosphere" is bare and ALWAYS empty. I know this place gets it orders from door dash and pick up only because they refuse to spend any dollars to make the atmosphere even decent. Last time we went they didn't have a working fountain...
