I have visited this place only once so far, but I will DEFINITELY be coming here for my comic needs from now on!
The store was organized nicely, and it was very clean! It was very easy to dig through the bins as everything was organzied by publisher and alphabetized! MUCH better than most places selling comics, which can be very overwhelming to look through if left a mess.
The people working were very sweet, and they weren't overbearing which is what I appreciate. I'm a retail manager myself, so I love to see good customer service without it hindering my shopping experience :)!!
I'm currently collecting the "Saga" issues (it is my dream to have it in every form of media it's printed in, and i just finished catching up on the volumes!), and boy howdy did they have a BIG chunk of them! I was so pleased with their selection, especially since the other places I have checked out in Fayetteville have been severely lacking when it comes to my favorite series :( I had to cap myself to $100 or else I woould've spent all my money in there!! The prices are a bit higher than other comic shops in town (especially on older issues, which is to be expected!), but I'm extremely happy with both the quality and quantity that I can easily look over that small bump. Plus, I was even talking to one of the workers there and he said he would never make anyone go broke over collecting, and that he's always willing to cut collectors a good deal on bulk buys! I didn't catch his name, unforunately, but he was very sweet and easy to talk to!
Chris was also AMAZING! I didn't interact with him much, but the friend who brought me in there did! He was trying to look into buying Pokemon cards, and figured he could sell one or maybe trade it in for something else. Chris took a look and talked him into getting it graded. He has yet to get results, but I'm very excited for him nontheless! My friend also bought a Pokemon tin, and he found his first misprint in it! A very exciting day for him !!! You could just tell by the way Chris was equally as excited and hyping my friend up that he is just a kind, genuine soul :) We need more people like him in the world!
Overall a very good experience! Expect to see me in there more happily buying out the...

Until recently.
I've been going to the Dragon's Lair since 2017, the owner is great, the staff was great. However today I decided I will never go back there again.
I like to purchase from the dollar books, looking for the gem in the rough, usually no problems but today when I picked out some books the cashier charged me regular price for two of them saying that those two shouldn't have been in the dollar section. The books were obviously damaged and that's why I thought they were in that section but I was flabbergasted, did this person think I was trying to steal from them by hiding books within the dollar section selection. I honestly felt offended. Paid full price for a comic that is basically worth .50 because of the binding damage. I know, I could've simply not purchased the items, but honestly I was just in a haze trying to understand what was actually happening, and this feeling of being judged. Made uncomfortable in a place that I've never felt uncomfortable ever. The neighborhood comic shop.
I'll never return to that place again.
The owners message response was to mitigate the problem as if I didn't bring the issue up to the cashier at that time. I did, and was shut down, end of conversation. No other person was there to talk to. The Ten dollar, $10, mistake is a big problem with me, and if this business doesn't want my money then fine, others will start to see that this place doesn't have the customer service needed to continue in this industry. They need to get better employees, and a much...
Read moreThis place is better than my first impression by a mile. I stopped in here a couple years ago and had a bad experience (dude talking down to me about comics, weak). It put me off. I've been stopping by over the last few months though and had great experiences. Good selection, knowledgeable staff, and a reliable pull list. Things are organized really well, too.
The counter people are helpful and make a good LCS experience. Once another customer was trying to talk Secret Empire up to me (no thank you) in a rather condescending "real fans love it" way. The employee at the counter did a very smooth interrupt/ distraction that redirected the dude her way. Way to pull aggro, comic store friend.
Side note: I have a service dog and this place is very accessible. No access challenges, and when the owner had their dog there once they immediately put pupper in the back while I shopped to make sure there wasn't any stress.
Basically, if you're new to the area this is the best, most reliable comic store in town. Very handy to base, too. You can grab new...
