I got a $500 dashcam installed here about a little over a year ago. Less than a month after installation the rear camera stopped working. I am military and deployed for 6 months. Upon returning I had them check it out and the guy was sort of a smart butt and said âall I did was unplug it and plug it back in so Iâm not going to charge youâ. Literally a couple days later it stopped working again and I went off to another army school for 4 months. Upon returning, I asked them to look at it again and clearly the issue because itâs not what they originally thought it was. They told me it was a $59 fee, no problem. They came back and told me the rear camera is defective and asked me if I wanted them to take it off so the front camera would still work. Upon checking out I asked where the camera was, and I was told it was still in the same spot on the window. đł I was then told they would take it off for an additional charge of $59 because they didnât install it. After I clarified they did install it, I was told it would still require a lot of work to uninstall it. A brand new camera not working immediately after installation doesnât seem like anything else other than bad installation. I would not go here to have work done if itâs not their product because each time I came to get solutions, (including today) they were pushing me to buy their products and now the money I spend is wasted.
Just because it is not a brand you sell or typically work with does not make it an "off brand" device. No one is verse in everything in the world. Also Barbara said "would you like us to take it off", not unplug. Unplugging is something anyone can do and not what was stated to me. This is confirmed because when I asked where they placed the equipment after uninstalling, she said she was unsure and would ask. Where she immediately went to the back. If it was unplugged she wouldn't have asked and would know it was in the same location. I was 100% misled and that takes any business dignity to admit and apologize. Therefore, small business or big business... bad business is bad business. Also if the diagnostic was done properly last year when I came in, this would have been corrected within the 1 year warranty era. IT was unfortunate I was set to an Army school for 4 months and could not get it rechecked immediately. However, I was set on my way and am dealing with the repercussions now. The review is fair and I would caution those...
Read moreI took my 2015 Tundra to Rhudys Car Audio on Yadkin Rs in to get a HD rear camera installed on 22AUG2025 and was assisted by Chris Bellow. He installed an HD camera but it was not centered. I could not use it as a proper backup camera, and he utilized my currently installed camera for parts "to make it work" without telling me or asking for my approval. I now cant return said camera because it was parted out without my consent. I called them that same day and informed that I was unhappy with the end result of the installation and would return Monday 25AUG2025 to get it fixed. I arrived at 1020am on 25AUG2025 and my truck was not seen until 138pm. At 313pm I was called up to see the fix and once again it was not up to standard. The video had shaded areas and was not fully centered or visible on screen. At this point I spoke with tech and Louie Collier and said if it could not be fixed I want a refund and my original parts installed back and operational. At 520pm Louie Collier informed me that they could NOT install my original camera and I was also informed that Chris Bellows cut the original wiring harness and it could not be repaired. Louie Collier called the owner and the owner said he WOULD NOT PAY for any of it and to read the fine print of their form. Bottom line this form was never provided, never seen or signed by me at any point. After discussion was had about unsatisfactory service they mentioned to read the bottom of the form. If this form is a legal document to protect the company I assume it needs to be provided before service terms are agreed upon not after. I brought truck in at 1020am and its now 651pm and I have not got my truck back. I encourage all military service members to seek other audio shops and do NOT give your service or monies to Rhudys Car Audio at any location. This type of unsatisfactory service should not be allowed. A definite...
Read moreThis was August 8, 2025 that I just left Autozone looking for a new antenna for my Tundra when I thought to go to Rhudy's. I had already been thinking about upgrading my stock radio for something new and I looked at Rhudy's before but I didn't realize they had another store other than the one on Murchison Rd. Chris was sitting in front of the store smoking a cigarette when I went inside and he followed after. He asked me a few questions and I told him what I was interested in and he showed me my options, there was no push to make a sale. So I ended up buying a new radio and have them instal it the next day since they were about to close. I left the new radio with them because at that point I felt confident that I could trust them. The next day (Saturday) I got there early and the installation was done in about 1 hour, and Chris took the time to walk me through how to use it for Android Auto etc. (I wouldn't take Chris' advice on buying a house though) but I am fully satisfied with the radio purchase. I waited a few weeks to write a review because I wanted to test it out, and it still works great. Thank you guys so much. You will see me again when I bring another one of my cars...
