In the Fayetteville area, this restaurant/sports bar has become known as "The Nig Apple", so let that be your first indication as to what type of establishment this has become over the years, applying not only to the general clientele, but to the waitstaff and general customer service as well. I'm not attempting to make a racist gesture by that, but simply passing along information known to people in the local area that may help someone avoid a bad experience. At night, the sports bar area basically becomes a club, and the clientele is almost exclusively of the "black thug" variety. So if you choose to go here to get some food while watching a live sporting event (MMA/boxing/etc), be aware of what type of establishment it is.
It's close to Fort Bragg on Yadkin Road, so it's a convenient location for lunch and even dinner for Fort Bragg employees not wishing to venture into Fayetteville. I've gone to this restaurant many times over the years, mainly because of the location, but also because the menu is diverse and the food is generally better than anything you'll find in that area of town. So the sacrifice is dealing with sub-par waitresses that routinely mess your order up in order to get decent food from a diverse menu at a convenient location. I've watched the waitstaff in the dining area routinely ignore customers trying to get their attention short of clapping their hands and screaming, while the waitstaff is standing at the front talking to other employees or their friends that stopped by. I've watched waitresses ignore customers in front of management and even the Asian lady that is the owner. I've also witnessed the owner attend to customers herself after the waitresses ignored customers trying to get their attention. I don't understand why or how employees like this are still allowed to work there when they display such poor behavior and work ethics, especially directly in front of management and the owner.
Overall, the food is good, although there are occasional mishaps with undercooked food that has to be sent back. This place does seem to have a slight problem with getting a full meal fully cooked and delivered to a table, even after the customers have been waiting 30 - 45 minutes. I'm not sure if the kitchen staff is simply overcome by the amount of orders or if they're simply not processing the orders in a timely manner and resorting to sending the food out half-cooked. I've been in every area of this establishment (dining area, bar, and sports-bar), and every area seems to be suffering from negligent management of some sort. But when the food is properly cooked, it does tend to be good, so the kitchen staff does deserve some credit for preparing tasty meals from a diverse menu.
I've also ordered take-out on numerous occasions, and on most occasions, there are items missing from the bag. The first time this happened, I didn't check my order at the restaurant prior to leaving, and was already home when I discovered I was missing something I ordered and paid for. That one was on me for having some level of trust in the establishment and not checking my order at the restaurant. On every take-out order since, I check the bag at the restaurant. When I discovered something missing from my order, and politely brought it to the attention of the waitress, indicating that I would like to receive the items I paid for, her attitude worsened. I eventually received my items with an attitude from a waitress whose job it is to make sure the order is complete.
Another problem is that on numerous occasions, the waitress would make no attempt to bring my change after I paid in cash for my order, acting as though my change was an additional tip by default. The menu states "ALL TO GO ORDERS 6% GRATUITY ADDED", so the waitresses appear to be attempting to keep any change on a cash payment to supplement their 6% mandatory gratuity on a take-out order. So be aware that you may need to specifically ask for your change, or simply pay as close to the actual amount as possible.
FYI: 18% GRATUITY ADDED TO PARTIES...
Read moreWe went on a Friday night soon as we entered the lady asked us what we wanted to drink before we even sat down. My husband ordered curry chicken and asked her repeatedly did it come with naan bread she said yes. I then asked where sides was on menu mind you that you need to scan qr code she had no idea. So I asked for a steak medium mac n cheese n broccoli. Ok now we are waiting for our food over 10 minutes pass I ask hubby to go to bar and ask for our drinks bartender asked him if he had even ordered drinks then told him he had to wait on waitress to bring it to us and she had super attitude I could see it just in her body language to him he comes back stated he does not like bartender she hss a bad attitude. So then our waitress finally brings our drinks after 20 minutes and our food st the same time. She tells him they don't have naan and ask if he wants garlic bread who uses garlic bread to soak up curry food. Get my food steak is so done the meat is black but here is the killer she brings me a empty steak sauce bottle when I call her back in ask for a bottle with sauce she says did you hit the bottle lmbo I looked in bottle it is dry she then comes back to tell me they have no steak sauce at all so I eat my hard dry steak he just puts all the meat on some rice. I ordered tequila sunrise she never asked what type of tequila he ordered a long Island and it taste like water. We was so lost literally the host was the waitress she was the only one person and bartender needs a attitude adjustment and to understand if a customer is asking for thier drinks serve them evidently he would not ask for it if we did not want and even if we didn't she could of made him the drinks and had him pay at the bar instead of now we was just sitting for 20 minutes doing nothing but listening to the radio they played at the bar no dj but for real the radio. We was highly...
Read moreThe pool tables are extremely expensive compared to the rest of the city unless you go during the one special time.
Ordered the BOGO wings on Sunday expecting to get 20 wings but the server forgot the deal ongoing every Sunday and I ended up only getting 10 wings for more than I should’ve paid. Didn’t check the bag prior to getting home as it comes tied up from the kitchen. Once I got home I realized half of my food was gone so I called back to see what options were available to rectify the situation. After 30 minutes of deliberation the manager informed me she didn’t know how to adjust prices or discount more wings so I could receive what I should have and that I could come in Tuesday to speak with another manager who might be able to help. I instructed her to reopen the ticket and issue a receipt then I could be charged the correct price for the wings as I have used a restaurant order program before… So after I drove across the city back to receive the rest of the food I was neglected, I was then charged full price, and waited again for 10 more wings.
My main gripe is customer service and being able to rectify a errored situation in the customers favor. I didn’t want to drive back across the city to pay again for wings I already paid for and the least I could’ve gotten were the rest of the wings credited or a plate of fries while I waited. I will be calling the manager Tuesday to discuss the situation and double checking with my account to ensure the refund was even...
