Gaynell is amazing. Last winter, we looked all over town for furniture and Tar Heel was what we found to have the best quality inventory. It was a bit more pricey than other places, but we wanted furniture that would last us a long time, not just a few years. When you first walk in, the Gallery looks a little "old-school" but when you actually look at the furniture itself, you'll see that they have both trendy and modern styles to traditional and classic. Gaynell was always so sweet, willing to answer our questions, and kept checking on different details when we had a new idea, etc. I normally don't like to work with salespeople (I'd rather shop on my own and decide what I want), but after we got to know Gaynell better, we found that the process went much better when we just told her our ideas and what we were looking for, and then she would pull out a handful of options to give us (many times, she pulled out pictures of pieces that weren't on the floor but could be ordered) and everything worked out perfectly. I was amazed at how we could give her a price range and description of what we wanted and she knew where to look and found lots of good options for us to choose from. We got to customize our couches just how we liked them, and have loved them since they were delivered several months ago. Gaynell was so welcoming and made us feel right-at-home even though we'd just moved to the area. She was my first impression of Fayetteville and I'm very thankful for her expertise and kindness. My only complaint is that, after the furniture was delivered, the delivery men gave us a sheet to sign saying none of it had been damaged upon them moving it in--this is understandable. I had only taken a quick peek at the furniture and didn't notice anything major, so I signed the paper. Well, it is really our own fault--this was our first time buying furniture so we should've inspected it more carefully (lesson learned), but right after the men left, we noticed a black line/mark on the side of our white linen couch. I'm guessing it marked up against our black railings on the way up to our apartment. I wish I would have taken longer to look over the couch because I know if I'd noticed it right away that Tar Heel would've fixed it somehow. But I haven't called them since or anything because it really is our own fault for not inspecting better. Just a heads up to look for things like that and don't feel like you have to sign the paper right that second! Overall, we loved our experience with Tar Heel and have recommended them to many of...
Read moreDo not get me wrong the furniture there is beautiful but very expensive. I am from a organization I went in there to see if we could buy a matter set for some homeless family we were trying to help he said that we didnât have to buy it he would donate the twin mattress set so our organization stated sure he told us to come back the next day. Or Somebody can pick up the bed we came back. The bed wasnât ready. Itâs this has been going on still to this day and this is April 25 Itâs been going on for a month now month or even two months now every time we call him the lady Miss Susie at the front says heâs busy nobody can ever get in touch with him. I told him I can come pick it up he said that they had to look into the warehouse to get it. Weâre still waiting for the people to call us because we wrote him out an invoice because he told us that it would be delivered to the house where the homeless people you know where we got them in from our organization, we got them into a Housing program and that he said he would donate the bed so weâre thinking when the people was gonna be there to drop off the bed. He told us to give him the invoice so we were kind enough to walk the invoice to him and hand it to him thinking that he already had his people his crew Deliver the mattress set to these homeless people Little do we know it didnât turn out that way the bed was never delivered every time we call once again Miss Susie at the front says heâs not there every time I go there heâs not there is this is the ongoing thing and so I told him itâs fine. You donât have to do it we wasnât making you youâre the one that said you wanted to donate a bed now what we need back is that invoice paper or I will call the IRS and let them know that youâre gonna try to file For that specific bed set which you never even gave us so I do not recommend this place at all itâs sad that we was just trying to help my organization. Was trying to help these homeless people and then we have a man that saying no you donât have to buy the bed. Iâll donate it to you now. All of a sudden, the lady donât even have a bed they slept on the floor for weeks and weeks until somebody else donated a bed set so now we donât even need the bed set from this man Mr. Larry is a liar. I definitely wouldnât trust him and I donât...
Read moreWhat started out as a 5 star experience with Mrs. Susie Williams dropped to a 1 star experience with Gaynelle(however her name is spelled) with her horrible attitude. I am a repeat customer who drove all the way from Raleigh to purchase again. I first bought a bedroom set, sofa sleeper, custom ottoman, and custom living room set about 7 years ago. I came to purchase more furniture after a broken toilet seal flooded the entire 1st level. After purchasing a new bedroom set and a living room table, which was delivered with no problems, I began the process to reorder new custom cushions to match the living set originally purchased 7 years ago. From that first purchase I remember Gaynelle's condescending attitude towards me but I let it go. The new cushions were about $500 and I paid in full, upfront, before the order was even placed. After speaking with my claims adjuster I decided to cancel the order for the custom cushions. I called (6/9/22 at 12:29pm and she called back at 12:41pm) and spoke with Gaynelle and this is when everything went downhill fast. The level of attitude and disrespect was as if cancelling the order was afflicting her great distress or that I was taking money from the business. I paid for the cushions upfront in full so I was confused on what she was implying. My issue is not even having to keep the custom cushions. It's the audacity of being talked to with such rudeness. My fiancé and I had referred several people because of the quality of furniture and how lovely Mrs. Susie was. But Gaynelle's ELITE level of unprofessionalism unfortunately ruined the experience. I will go pick up my cushions and will NOT purchase anything else from there again. I will also tell my referrals not to purchase there to avoid any potential contact with Gaynelle's sour and...
