They won't allow me to pre order now I buy from action comics and ebay. The old and new owners are not good people . 3 years ago I had issues with my comic hub account the old owners blocked my account the only comics I wanted were variant pre order which the store did not carry in stock the new owners seemed very friendly I showed up to buy 3 books and asked why my comic hub account still wasnt fixed they replied Paula had too many complications with you we stand by her. My account had issues that's not my fault and it was 3 years ago the new owners did not care because all they want is you to bring them cash. My debit card wasnt good enough I guess? Every tuesday night look up action comic toys on Instagram they post pics of all the wednesdays comics in stock they are very friendly and honest. I just spent about $100 on Ebay last month on variant issues pre order midgard did not have any in stock how am I to buy comics from a store who wont order what I'm looking for? The shipping fees from Ebay add up that's why I'm looking to pre order from local stores which midgard did not care because they do not care about saving the customers money they only want you to...
Read moreIt brings me no joy to write this; but for all the promise that a change in ownership held, it's unfortunate to hear that many of the same problems have only been carried forward - or degraded further - where TCGs, especially MtG, are concerned.
When a store charges almost 50% more than the nearby going rate for drafts - equivalent to Seattle and Bellevue prices! more than the Mox! - one would expect superior prize support, or reinvestment into what makes a draft tick. I can't in good conscience recommend this place for Magic. You don't have to go very far out of your way to find spaces that provide a superior experience for the money you spend, that properly support and provide for the staff that facilitates their events, and that have a healthier relationship with the broader regional...
Read moreI was a huge fan of Fantasium, and was heartbroken when that they announced that the business had been sold and the owner was moving to Texas. I'm a pessimist, and I definitely feared the worst.
The new ownership immediately set about trying to set folks at ease about the transition, and they've worked super-hard to maintain the same welcoming and inclusive environment that had been a hallmark of Fantasium, even as they made some minor changes (including rebranding as Midgard).
There were a few early hiccups with their ordering system, none of them the fault of the new owners, who - again - worked hard to build and maintain the trust of the existing customer base. I've noticed that they seem to be working especially hard to get to know their regulars, which helps them make good recommendations
Midgard isn't Fantasium, but I am pleased to report that the quality of the store (and its staff) has not dropped following the change. It continues to be my primary source for tabletop games and...
