I thought you were supposed to cook BBQ yourself but the server would try to stir for us. I was like ok that’s fine I don’t mind it. But then whenever she comes to our table to check if the meat is cooked, my cousin who sat next to me was using the tongs to stir the meat. The server snatched it from her hand and continued stirring our food which was really rude. It’s like she wouldn’t let us cook our own food.
I was about to pay $159 at the front. I gave no tip because I couldn’t afford more. I was already paying taxes anyways. As soon as I was going to leave, the waitress chased me and told me “it doesn’t include tips” i was so confused and she made me write a check mark on the receipt. I gave her 15% tip. The tip was $23. So the total would be $182. My debt card declined because I didn’t have enough so I had to use my credit card. When the waitress forced me to tip her, she gave me a petty response, “Thank youuu”
Do they not understand I couldn’t afford to spend more money? My card even declined in front of her. That was so disrespectful and rude. You really had the audacity to force your customers to pay more.
Update 9/23/24: I called you couple days after I left your restaurant. I drove over to Washington to visit my family. I can’t go in-person because I live in Portland Oregon. I asked for the manager to discuss this issue, you said he’s not here. You asked for my name and number to call me back. You never called me back. So technically I did handled this more openly. You just didn’t want to cooperate. In your reply, you didn’t mention about my card declined in front of her and still forced me to write down the gratitude. She even snatched the tongs from my cousin’s hand. Tried to go above and beyond expecting us to tip her. Nobody asked her to do that. Therefore it was your intention. Other people in the reviews pointed out how sneaky you...
Read moreTried this restaurant recently for lunch. Parking is ample and spaces are shared with other businesses in the strip mall. Upon entering, I could see many older Asian men and women which for me speaks to a level of authenticity. We were told to sit anywhere and once seated were given a warm beverage - I assume tea? No explanation was provided as to what it was. I took a few small sips (it's unsweetened), but primarily used it to keep my hands warm. For an appetizer, we ordered steamed Korean sausage. This was interesting to say the least and my husband enjoyed it more than I did. For lunch, based on other reviews, I decided to try the Gam-ja tang (potato and pork neck bone soup) and my husband got spicy pork+ soft tofu soup. Prior to any food arriving we snacked on the small plates of sides which usually accompany Korean food. They were all gone before our entree arrived a testament to how good they were! To drink I got hot sake which I appreciated was actually hot! My soup was flavorful, but could be a bit more spicier (if you don't like spicy food, this isn't the dish for you). There were so many neck bones that I couldn't even get to the bottom of the bowl! I do wish there wasn't a singular potato in the dish, and it could have used a texture relief. Whatever we didn't eat, we took home for leftovers and they were enjoyed at home as well. Will definitely return, especially to try the BBQ table...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to show my girlfriend what the Korean BBQ experience is all about. So Moon Nan Jib was a great choice. I often see reviews of the service, saying that there was a lack of kindness. We did not experience that whatsoever. The servers were very attentive, and never left us feeling stranded.
We made a reservation for the same day. After walking in, we were seated right away. I recommend calling and setting a reservation as they do get pretty busy.
The banchan (infamous Korean side dishes), were fresh and tasty. The kimchi was more on the light side of fermentation. Which is great for anyone who hasn’t experienced the taste before. We ordered the marinated Combo C that says it feeds 2 people. Let’s just say the 2 people must be starving to finish the whole thing. We tried our best to eat all of it, but ended up throwing in the towel. The staff was happy to give us boxes for leftovers to enjoy the following day.
Overall, I enjoyed this place more than the all you can eat Korean BBQ around Federal Way. Obviously the price you pay will be higher here. But it results in a higher quality experience in my opinion. Will definitely be returning. Thank you So...
