No, this is not short, but what true testament is? JML Audio is synonymous with professionalism, pride, honesty, integrity, detail and perfection. If you are looking for someone to simply put a stereo and some speakers in your car while you run to the mall or grab a bite to eat JML is not the place for you. If, on the other hand, your car is important to you and you want whatever work done to your car done absolutely perfect, then JML is definitely the place to check out. From the minute you walk in their door you know you are not dealing with a chain audio store and then once Josh starts talking to you, well you just have to experience it. There are so many things they are capable of doing for you - from new audio system (and I mean system), security, radar/laser, clear bra (you'll never see it) to even detailing your car (you'll think you had it repainted). If it is an audio system you have them do, when Josh and his fantastic team finish the complete system, your car interior sounds like you are sitting in the Fox Theater the acoustics are that fantastic. The detail of their work will astound you – I can guarantee the average chain store will never provide you with what JML will do for you. Their personal onsite fabrication of what they need to make the system look and sound like it does is unbelievable. It will look like it has always been part of your car and it will sound like you are sitting in a symphony hall. The difference is mind blowing. Now you can go to a chain store; pay some cheap price, put in a stereo and a couple of new speakers; and think you have a good system (“good” being the key word here) or you can go to JML let Josh show and let you hear what a great system is like which won’t be cheap – but then great is not cheap. It all depends on what you want and are willing to pay for regarding your car. My friend took his car to Josh for detailing inside and out by Josh a month or so before he took it to trade it in. They ran the Carfax twice because they didn’t believe it hadn’t been wrecked it looked so great with over 50,000 miles on it and they commented on the fact that the paint had absolutely not a single scratch and shined better than the new cars they had on the lot. If that is not a testimony to Josh’s work I don’t know what is. Josh completely backs his work as well. I have had JML install: a stereo, sound deadening in the doors, front and rear cameras, security system with auto start, radar detector/laser blocker and amps in my car (not in one visit). He always calls the next day to ask how everything is for me to make sure I am satisfied with the work. It is important to him that each & every customer is satisfied. I had an issue with the stereo a few weeks after I installation which caused it to just reboot suddenly or switch devices. I called Josh and he immediately said bring the car back and let us look at it. He found the software had already undergone an update but just to be certain, because my car is a new concept model, he decided to install a different wire than normal just in case. Again, satisfaction is key. He did both at no charge. I have had stereos installed at other stores in the past and they would never do anything like this, never go this far, especially at no charge. Oh, one more thing, if you have something other than a car such as a boat, motorcycle, golf cart or whatever don’t think JML won’t work on it – just give them a challenge and they will take it on and conquer it. JML will always have my business and my recommendation. There is not a better audio stereo business in the area than JML. Thanks Josh!!! I’ll be back!!! March 2025. Update. I've been back several times and nothing has changed. Josh is still the great guy he was when I first met him and doing the fabulous work he did then. Nothing has changed like in so many businesses that become complacent and start to not care. JML cares about what they do and the quality of the service they provide. I had a great overall experience working with JML audio for the car audio build for my 2018 Honda Accord.

If you’re wondering, here’s my list to let you know if JML IS NOT the right place for your car audio needs…

• You only value total cost vs. total value and experience • You prefer a typical “car audio shop” experience • You’re impatient and want your install performed in hours • You don’t refer to your vehicle as your “baby” • You’re not an audiophile in the least bit

WORK PERFORMED 2 x 10” subwoofers enclosed in a fabricated box installed in the trunk spare tire well. I chose this option to preserve maximum trunk space. The two tweeters and two mid-range speakers (both front doors) were upgraded. An “environmental package” which involved sound proofing in the front and rear doors as well as the rear deck and trunk. JML also stripped out the previously install speakers from the previously botched job performed by another “car audio shop”. I completed all 3 stages over the course of 12 months.

My audio build was done in 3 stages: Removal of previous install and installation of the Environmental package. The environmental package is the sound proofing installation. This took approximately 3 days. Bass package install. 2 x 10” subs were installed in the trunk spare tire well. 2 amplifiers installed under rear deck as well all necessary components. This took approximately 5 days. Final stage: Tweeter and mid-base speaker door upgrades. A third, rear deck mounted amplifier for said speakers. DRC (digital remote control) controller was also installed left of steering column. Typical time for installation is 5 days, but to closer to 2 weeks due to unforeseen circumstances.

PROS • Thorough 1.5 - 2-hour consultation that included a tour of their facility • They have a wealth of knowledge of a wide range of vehicle types. I felt very confident that they knew the “ins and out’s” of my vehicle. • They care about how my vehicle sounds just as much, if not more, than I did • They have a methodical, step-by-step approach to the car audio build process • You’ll come out of the process knowing more about car audio than you did before • They offer rental vehicles for convenience • They do way more than just car audio (e.g., stealth radar installs, car protective film, window tinting, and tail light smoking to name a tiny few)

CONS • Pricey. But you get what you pay for. This is a facility that offers premium service from world class professionals. Given that, I didn’t feel intimidated once I met and talked with Josh. He’s a pretty down-to-earth guy who’s a car audio aficionado. This was a worthwhile INVESTMENT • For larger projects like mine, the build process took longer than what I was used to. Depending on the install and the current number of projects from other clients, the build process can take anywhere from 1 - 2 weeks. This is where the vehicle rental comes in handy. If you own multiple cars this may be a non-issue • Long lead times for big projects. A base package install required about a 2 – 3-month lead time from time of calendar booking (at the time of my install in mid 2021). I believe this is primarily due to the number of clients JML has in its queue. Smaller projects (e.g., environmental package install) require less lead time (approximately 2 – 3 weeks in my case)

Based on my experience with JML audio, I’m now a customer for life. JML audio has a “right the first time” approach and Josh is good at following up post install to check for any issues.

Every time I entered their facility, I saw a project they were working on that I wanted done to my car as well. Next on my list is an upgrade to my current remote starter to an iOS app based remote starter.

It doesn’t take long to figure out product knowledge, quality, and professionalism are the key pillars of JML Audio; but there is another layer deeper, personal compassion and deep desire for perfection is uncompromised and simply unmatched.

In efforts to not write a War & Peace version of what has recently transpired when JML Audio performed their magic, I’ll attempt to summarize my experience to the best of my ability without leaving out critical information. Essentially, Josh never compromised quality even though his desired timeline to perform the requested work was cut from 4-5 days down to 1 day of work which carried over into his day off (Sat) with pre-scheduled family commitments. To add further complication, I needed the vehicle to drive from St. Louis to CA with an inflexible arrival time of Monday evening.

As various complications arose at no fault of Josh’s, his niece and I sat and watched as Josh went through 1+ hrs worth of validation and verification to make sure every aspect of the vehicle was 100% - beyond the components that he integrated. There was a point when I thought all was complete, and Josh had another 10 mins worth of checks before he started another series of checks during an actual test drive; every switch was moved, tested, verified, all of the safety systems were evaluated like the blind spot monitoring in order to make sure that all systems were working and uncompromised. Then a problem child code (SOS / on-star like system) started to report a malfunction. It would have been very easy to conclude that the system needed a Mfr. Special programming box to re-set/re-program the affected box – but his curiosity didn’t stop him even though his niece (and I) were both hungry and ready to leave. He continued troubleshooting, long into Sat night, which led him to removed another panel all to find out that a wire wasn’t fully seated. 4-6 hrs of extra (unpaid) quality control on his day off – missing a handful of planned family events didn’t distract Josh from producing the highest level of craftsmanship that I’ve ever seen in his trade.

Josh and his Team have performed their work on 3 of my vehicles even though I am currently stationed in CA – I will always keep Josh’s number handy.
