I live in Chicago and in Cherokee AL 4 months a year. I have been doing business with Kaleidoscope since 2010. I reccomended them to friends and family in both locations. Today I called to place an order as I just received an email this week advertising a bouquet called Blush Life, but when I tried to order it they were out of several of the flowers. I asked a reasonable question as to why they were advertising a product that they couldn't fulfill. Regardless we came up with reasonable substitutions and I placed the order. They charged $14.99 for an unwrapped Russell Stover assortment. I suggested they might want to add an upgraded brand of candy as an option but I ordered it anyway. My total was $140.00. Within 2 minutes I received a phone call that they were REFUSING the order. The rep told me the owner said I placed too many complaints and he would no longer do business with me. I asked to speak with the owner to try to resolve the problem and boy was I in for a surprise! Joey, the owner, had no desire to resolve anything but definitely wanted to lie, insult and degrade me. He said I had complained about several orders which is simply not true. I asked for specifics and he mentioned an order from 2016. I thought about it afterwards and I did complain bc on ANY floral designs I order I specify no daisies of any kind. They sent an arrangement full of Gerbers so yes, I complained. But there was no refund, discount or replacement offered or requested. I simply wanted to make sure my account notes were accurate. Joey swears he had to replace orders due to my complaints which never, ever happened and when I asked for details he continued to yell, cut me off and berate me. It makes no sense to any logical person that I have been a repeat customer for more than a decade and reccomended his business that I would have complained to the point he has literally banned me from ordering again! Lol. I am specific when I order flowers and obviously that happens when I place an order, not afterwards. So one complaint in 2016 and a question about marketing a product they can't fulfill and a suggestion that they include a better quality candy option & THAT got me banned for life. Not to mention the Queen Bee owner Joey is definitely one of the rudest, most hostile and angry humans I have had the misfortune of talking to. I can't imagine working with beautiful flowers & having that much resentment that as a business owner he wouldn't hesitate to treat a client with such disdain. I was truly shocked. I have informed my family on our group chat about what transpired and told them to use Dean's Flowers in Florence who put together a gorgeous, elegant arrangement for less money and no issue w/ special requests. I just noticed a review on Yelp that said Joey was so rude he called her a bi**h. I believe her after my encounter with him. He also boasted he had 5 star reviews which he does not. I strongly suggest using Dean's or any other florist. This owner is unreasonable and unprincipled. Some success in a small rural area has gone to his ego and created a monstrous freak who has no problem actually insulting clients. Not that I would ever spend another dollar there but being banned for not loving Russell Stover is going to make for an amusing story at parties! Kaleidoscope was the best option I could find years ago so I became a faithful customer. After seeing Dean's modern, classy arrangements I realized my loyalty was misplaced. Kaleidoscope arrangements are very 1980s in style and selection but with 2023 prices. You can do better with your money & send a bouquet that will awe the recipient instead of a basic arrangement that they will appreciate but not actually love. Plus if you have any reason to complain beware Joey's diatribe will leave you insulted. I feel terrible for his "significant other." I can't imagine how he would behave if they didn't love his new meatloaf recipe. We supported his business for many years but I strongly urge you to take a pass and use a florist that will appreciate the opportunity...
Read moreI only put 1 star because you can’t put less. I am VERY VERY VERY displeased with this business right now. I live in Atlanta and called last Thursday to place an order for a bouquet of flowers to be delivered to my mother’s home for her Mother’s Day present and before agreeing to the order I was adamant about when I needed them delivered and if it were not possible then I would understand and find another florist who could. I was assured that they would fulfill my order and have the delivery delivered on time in two days. She sounded sincere and was very helpful so I didn’t have the least bit of worry that the order wouldn’t show up but Saturday came and my mom didn’t get her flower arrangement that I ordered her for her Mother’s Day present. It’s now Sunday (Mother’s Day) and she still hasn’t received her Mother’s Day present. On top of that, no one is answering the phone to give me an answer as to why or to offer a solution to the problem. And last but not least, when asked about the price range, I told the lady I only had $50 that I could spend/charge on my card. Once again, she seemed super understanding and super helpful making me think that she had me taken care of so I gave her my card info to charge over the phone and about ten minutes after we hung up I received an email with a receipt attached to it stating that my card was charged $65.00. $15 isn’t a lot of money but it’s the principle to the matter. She asked me how much I wanted to spend and I told her I had a $50 limit and was assured that that was what I would be charged and that wasn’t the case. I’ve never went to the extent of writing a negative review about a business before solely because I am a super understanding person and understand that we are all human, accidents and miscommunications happen but i don’t know what else to do in this case because I have yet to be contacted by anyone from this business to help resolve my issues after calling multiple times and leaving voicemails asking for a call back. This is completely unacceptable. I was over charged and lied to about the price and I was also lied to about a delivery date that resulted in my mom not receiving her Mother’s Day present. Your customers are the reason you are in business and without us, you wouldn’t have a business. It’s not even about who is right and who is wrong, it’s about WHAT is right and WHAT is wrong and operating in this manner is just plain WRONG. At this point I don’t even want the bouquet to be delivered , I want my money back. Delivering a Mother’s Day present AFTER Mother’s Day has passed is...
Read moreNothing but problems from Kaleidoscope. The first time they accused me of stealing from them. I only pick up flowers on site from the refrigerator, I never place orders in advance. They kept sending me demand letters with an invoice to pay up. I told them I only select arrangements from the case. I’ve never ordered flowers in advance, so unless I physically stole from the store (which I’ve never done), there is no way I owe them money. The woman on the phone shouted at me and told me the burden was on me to prove I paid, and hung up on me. They then went back in their books and found my credit card payment and I was vindicated. Now, another issue arose, my mom called and place a flower order for me and they didn’t quite have the flowers she wanted, and the guy she talked to was short and rude, which left a bad feeling, so she immediately called back and cancelled. They apparently didn’t actually cancel the order, they billed her credit card and delivered flowers she didn’t like or want. I called and as I was explaining the man on the phone yelled at me to “HOLD ON.” I have never been talked to like this. I yelled back and he hung up on me. I’ve had it with these rude people. This is the second time they have made a very egregious billing mistake and not only are they not humble and contrite, they lash out. So poorly managed. Avoid Kaleidoscope at all costs. Dean’s does a much better arrangement, and are always kind and happy to...
