I enjoy giving back to the community by shopping thrift stores in the area community service store it claims itās operating as. I suspect that its not the same owners as when they opened the place. First of all I am appalled at how rude and unprofessional I witnessed some of the staff being to each other as well as customers, who are typically senior citizens. Itās unjust and unethical how they are running the store. There is definitely something shady going on in there. The prices you get depend on Who you speak to , most items are not marked and when you ask they give you prices higher than retail sticker prices of new items. Not only is that ridiculous, but if they are not serving the community they should change the name and call it what it is. Buy used items at triple the price not for the benefit of community of much needy families of abused women and children but for the lining of their own personal pockets. Can someone call an Audit ....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI shop here often, but Iāve noticed they have gone up on pricing. Thereās one lady I guess she runs the store. (Edna from the Incredibles )Who has been rude more then once. I go back thinking it was just a bad day for her. But Iām realizing sheās that way all the time. She Counted my items wrong at check out. Then correcting her, she gets an attitude. And stats āI know I counted 9ā but it was 6!! But she was on a personal call as she was trying to check me out. I recently shopped there in the morning. Then went back before they closed. For a bed frame that was marked 49.99. They ripped the tag off saying that was marked wrong and try charging me $125.00. BUT with a 25% discount. āYou get all the hardware with it here in the bag ā. The āhardwareā was the missing balls that go on the post of the bed. That They just threw in the bag. Reading other reviews. I think itās time to change management if thatās what she is. If this store wants to have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreForney local - have always loved this store up until the new management. Hours are now 9A-5P. They rudely go around announcing the store is closed - and they will kick you out. The staff used to be really kind - very customer service oriented. I feel like thatās been lost in translation since new ownership. Iāve shopped here at least 20 times. I like to give places benefit of the doubt before writing a low-star review, especially one benefiting the community. Unfortunately, after all the poor experiences, this place isnāt my favorite, anymore!
Pros: Good thrift finds (on a good day) Location / right off 80 Service Road Clean / organized Occasional rare antique find
Cons: Rude staff including the owner, except the one woman with glasses at checkout (sheās ALWAYS kind) Inconvenient hours if you have a day job (9-5) Sporatic pricing / sometimes higher than the actual retail it was originally...
