Go do it now! You will not regret it.

I am a repeat customer of Peacock Adventures, which tells you everything you need to know. Scott's Florida Peacock and Everglades guided trip was beyond expectation. But his Kalua guided trip to the Urubaxi River was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

Covid showed up after we made our initial plans, but Scott somehow held the together even after 2 years of delays. He didn't have to - on the face of the contract he could have shrugged and said "too bad."

Scott kept me informed every step of the way leading up to the trip, even recommending special lures (optional) and the best trip insurance. The travel, lodging, and accommodations went without a hitch, and Scott was available by text or email to answer any questions.

And the fishing! It's a hard-core fishing trip. On the water by 6:30 AM, returning about 6:30 PM. I caught an 18lb Peacock; my brother in law caught a bigger one than mine, and a newbie on the trip caught the biggest one of all (of course). In addition, we caught piranhas, arrowana, a Tiger Shovelnose, and many more. It was glorious, and I spent much of my time thinking, "Am I really here? Is this really happening?"

This is not a travel blog, so I'll keep it shorter than I want to. But in summary, I got to meet some wonderful fellow anglers and locals, I got to see some amazing sights and visit some wonderful places, and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

A word about Scott - he is a wealth of information. He is a master of his craft. He is a professional, a truly nice guy, a patient instructor, organized, unflappable, and all-around top-notch. If I were going fishing in Gabon (one day!) or Papua New Guinea, or Columbia - I have a long bucket list - I'd call him first. I don't think he guides to any of those places...but I'd call him first.

I recommend Peacock Adventures...

Truly one of the best guides and fisherman I have ever fished with. I have fished with Scott many times of the past few years. I have also had many of my family fish with him as well. No small feat as we live in Utah. With Scott I have had some of my best fly fishing, and spin fishing, days ever. From peacock bass, snook, tarpon, clown fish, and many other species, Scott has always worked in not only putting me on the fish, but also working in teaching me the techniques necessary for a successful day, no matter what we are fishing for. And if a unique fishing opportunity pops up, Scott makes the adjustment and we go for it, typically with great success. I can go on, but you get...

5 stars all the way. The Kalua Hotel was not on the trip of a lifetime for myself but also my Dad. We set out with one singular goal: to have a shot at a Peacock Bass over 20lbs/80cm. My Dad and I both returned back to the states with a 20+ lb fish under our belts, mine being a 22lb fish. A core fishing memory made with my Dad that will last a lifetime. Even aside from the incredible location, beautiful spots and GIANT fish that live in the Jurabaxi. The operation itself is dialed in and extremely well run. Incredible wildlife, boat rides and fishing. I will 100% be returning in 2025 and every year after that hahahaha. Here are the photos of...
