I was at the plaza Tuesday 5/21/24 to visit my favorite Weston eatery La Toretta and found an absolutely incredible (and incredibly BAD) situation with the parking lot there.
For some reason, the company that runs the plaza believed it would be a good idea to close almost half the plaza's parking lot, in the very middle of it, throughout the day (including THE busiest of hours) with NO access from side to the other without a massive detour (either back out to the city's roadways, or around the backside of the mall). This was MASSIVELY inconvenient to the public attempting to use the plaza and to its tenants possibly even (though hopefully not) devastatingly so. I cannot criticise enough either the lack of foresight or planning for this job.
First, the timing for it was ridiculous. With a mall of this busy, why would you deprive the community - whom you KNOW flock to this plaza in large numbers - of half the available parking during regular business hours and particularly during the HEIGHT of those hours?! There is an entire night in which to conduct such maintenance, when there is almost no one around and impact on business would be minimal.
Second, why would you render the entire middle of the plaza parking lot inaccessible with no way to get from one end to the other as part of the process? When you force people to have to hit the surface street again - as this the plan absolutely does - you give them every excuse to go elsewhere, harming your plaza's business traffic and more importantly your tenants' (i.e. the people you expect to collect rent from).
Third, there was no posted warning instructing patrons of this situation. This, along with the previous steps, created massive congestion during these busy hours, further heightening people's dissatisfaction and upset. Guaranteed not all of them by far were as patient as myself of leaving the plaza property to drive around to the other side for utterly inconvenient parking options if you were trying to go to a part of the plaza not at either end.
As someone who lives in reasonable walking distance, the plaza operators are fortunate there are establishments I am very regular at among their tenants, because if not there are certainly options elsewhere that I can easily take my patronage to. And I might suggest to those establishments that they might be better off elsewhere, if this is an example of just how the plaza they're in is run. Understanding foolishness like this might happen, I certainly cannot recommend it to such positively.

I have to say my experience was very different than last time and she did everything to fix the highlights and color. It looks good and I am very satisfied. I really appreciate her expertise and her time to make this right. Thank you very...
